Welcome to DMDewar.com Welcome to my soapbox, well maybe, but not so much. I'm not real preachy I just use this website pretty much for whatever I feel like and have for the last five years. It's kind of like my notebook that I happen to share. Basically I cover anything of interest to me which is mostly tech toys, MMA, alternative music, golf, and occasionally stuff that is going on with me. A little about me? Well my favorite movies are Inside Man, The Usual Suspects, Training Day... My favorite tv shows are Dexter, and Californication. I am a sports junkie following the Dodgers and Lakers religiously and root for the Chargers by default since we dont have a pro football team. Basically any team from the Los Angeles area. I'm been married 16 years and have two daughters 15 and 13! Enough about me though! Enjoy the site! Thanks again! Well I have been cruising around for the past couple of weeks in the Lancer and thought I'd share my thoughts... I am just as impressed with my car as when I bought it. It is a great all around car. Performance wise it is completely adequate accelerating when I want it to like I want it to. When not using the manual mode it is a little anemic but I have found that this is where the manual mode has it's true merit kicking the car off to a fast start when needed. Having gone in just wanting a four door that had enough trunk space for my golf clubs. This car has turned out to be very practical fitting five rather comfortably and also being fairly economical getting 21/28 mpg. Of course the techno toys are a very nice touch. I use the nav and the bluetooth a lot. The sounds from the Rockford Fosgate system are great and while I have yet to find a need to watch a movie in the car I have had the temptation to hook my Xbox up to the system's AV auxilary port. All in all for the price it is a great all around car that is both great aesthetically and in it's performance on the road. The only thing I find myself wanting is the real ipod adapter so I could control my sounds. posted @ 08:52 AM PST [link] [Karma: -4 (+/-)] Meyerhoffer Surfboards  I'm not a surfer by any measure of the word. I have always wanted to pick up a longboard so I could paddle out when I wanted. My daughter thinks that with my gut my arms probably wouldn't hit the water but, thats another story. Meyerhoffer used to work for Apple way back in the day but he took those design principles to work on improving longboard design. I have to admit it is a little funky looking but it sounds really cool. Basically it can be described as having a long boards stability with a short boards agility. Sounds like a pretty awesome combination! posted @ 07:54 AM PST [link] [more] Saturday, June 13, 2009Palm PreWell today I got my hands on my nephews Palm Pre and I have to admit I am impressed. I really like the layout of the phone. It feel good in the hand. The screen and the keyboard are a little small for my taste. I really like that it has tabs though I am not sure if the apps that are off screen are still running or not. If they are then its a huge advantage over the iphone. Anyways I have to give his phone back to my nephew. The presentation was great as always but the 13 inch MacBook pro almost stole the show. $1199 and I'm thinking I might be down to change. But I digress, the iphone 3gs is basically the same form factor as the 3g. It is twice as fast as it's predecessor and will offer video in the improved 3 mp camera. MobileMe is getting updated with a feature called find my iPhone where it will show you on a map the GPS location of your phone and it will emit an audible tone even if it was left in silent mode. Hopefully AT&t will let me upgrade again. Speaking of AT&T Apple threw them under the bus a couple of times in regards to MMS not being ready until late summer and tethering a date wasn't even announced. It was like going to dinner with two divorced parents. Oh well should be ingesting and maybe will get tethering as some kind of make up sex! Rumor has it tethering is going to be in an all you can eat data plan priced at $70, bleh! Almost?Well this afternoon was stellar as I went to the Dodger game this afternoon. Traffic was light despite the fact the Dodgers and Lakers were playing at home today. The Dodgers were on ESPN and the Lakers on ABC so it was a big day for sports in LA. Unfortunately the Dodgers dropped the game 7-2 but the Lakers held homecourt by winning in overtime.
