Mirrors Edge
I was amazed I hadnt heard of this game already but EA built a Parkour or Free Running game that is pretty incredible. The video will give you a better idea.
Wow talk about a wonderful Holiday, dang what was the score 92-83? In all seriousness Happy Holidays but damn did you see the game. As far as statement games go that was the Lakers saying FU! No but really I am not sure which is more concerning the fact that the Lakers obviously play down to the level of their opponents or my obsession with watching a basketnall on Christmas day? The Lakers playing on Xmas day is becoming a Holiday tradition like the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, except the Lakers are playing well this year.
One of my gifts to myself was a mini plan of Dodger games. Its a 15 date pack which includes opening day and a variety of games on Thursday and Sunday. I got section 8 Top Deck row B seats 1&2 which are probably the nicest seats I could afford a pair of without my wife killing me. Its a great deal for $250 click on more fore the games.

Dodgers Mini Plans
Well with Baseball season catching fire with the Winter meetings I decided to check out the Dodgers website. I was browsing the mini plans and they aren't a bad deal. One in particular caught my eye the silver slugger which gives you opening day plus 14 other Thursday and Sunday dates. For two top deck seats it would run $250 which if you compare it to any other pro sports in town is quite reasonable. Might be where Xmas money is going.

Yankees buying their way back to the show.
Yankees, Yankees, Yankees! Damn sucks ofr the Angels but the Yanks after spring big dollars on CC Sabathia and AJ Burnett they turned around and won the Mark Teixeira sweepstakes. I thought it was great news because it would seem likely to tilt the deck in the Dodgers favor in signing Manny Ramirez since the Yankees, Angels, and Red Sox wont be interested. Its gonna be a hot year in the East next year...

Killing Stadiums right and left...
Well it figures the cowboys wouldnt want to be ourdone by the Yankees as both teams are moving into new super stadiums and while I havent been to either I wonder what was so bad with each other than they didn't meet the standards of their owner's colossal egos. When you think of huge iconic teams the Cwboys and the Yankees are definitely it. Both look like dysfunctional families as their huge salaried children dont seem to be getting the job done. The Yankees continue to try to buy their way to success but how ironic they got their asses handed to them by Tampa Bay who was the cheapest team in baseball. Then there's the cowboys who are probably lining up to meet with Plexico Butthead Burress because as they proved this year theres no limit to the amount of substandard behavior they will put up with or too many star receivers on the team. How ironic that after what they have become they both miss the playoffs the year they shutdown their iconic homes to move into their new mega palaces, icons for what is wrong in sports not what is right...

Clippers, how I have ignored thee!
Hey like most Angelenos I have been following the Lakers and ignoring the Clippers but I didn't realize how badly until I was watching ESPN and saw they had Zach Randolph? To make matters worse theys signed him on November 21st? Well needless to say Im getting a good feeling about Dunleavy being the GM now as they have signed some good players this season. First they sign Baron Davis only to watch Elton jump ship to Phillie. Thedn they pick up Marcus Camby for nothing to improve the D. Now they pick up Zach Randolph? Things are deifinitely looking up.

Acer Aspire One Update
Well I picked up my Aspire One today and while it is indeed tiny I really do like it a lot. Getting the AT&T at 3G will probably impress me more than the Edge speed has today but it works. Radio Shack had some nice options with the netbook like I received CA antivirus for free and was able to purchase Offfice 2007 student home edition for $40.00. Really I plan using it for work when Im on call so it will be a much nicer package to tout around than my 17 inch dell was, though I will keep that for work...Really it all adds up to knowing what the payoffs are for what you're getting so if you want a small form factor you have to deal with less of other things...

Kindle: Amazon's Wireless Reading Device
You know I had never been on the old Reading Device boat, until now. I was strolling through Target with my wife yesterday and I saw the Electronic Paper up close yesterday and I decided that I was on board. The Kindle from Amazon goes for $359.00 and includes free cell coverage to download items without having to pay for the cell coverage. You can order newpapers, magazines, books, and even download blogs. Sounds like a takeoff on the iPod business model that will work for me...
Acer Aspire One netbook to be subsidized like cell phones
Well it took some time but finally, and probably to some detriment you can buy the Acer Aspire One with an AT&T Air Card plan of $60 for just $99 at Radioshack. So basically they are subsidizing about $400 on the netbook for that 2 year agreement of what will add up to $1440 but if you were planning on getting an aircard anyways....
