Well as you may have noticed my site disappeared again. Not sure what I screwed up on the billing plan but hey its fixed now. I really like my hosting company as they seem to offer awesome customer service. I was actually going to just let the site die but changed my mind after I started having withdrawals. Its not the blogging I miss but all of the crap that I have already got on this site. Anyways here I am even if nobody reads this crap!

A ghost in Hampton Court
A costumed figure stands in a doorway at Hampton Court Palace in southwest London in this image caught on closed circuit television and released by the Palace Friday, Dec. 19, 2003. On several occasions in October 2003, guards at the palace were alerted to an open fire door in the 16th century palace. Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, the curious image of a costumed figure suddenly appeared on the screen and closed the doors. The Palace is well known for its alleged supernatural activity.

Im not sure if Super Natural is Zuffa's emphasis that nobody will be doping steroids this event or if it just a reference to The Natural Randy Couture who will be taking on long time Light Heavy Contender Vitor Belfort. In my opinion the UFC is hurting right now. I have been waiting to see any of the copromoted fighters shiow mainly Sakuraba. The Heavyweight division has been thrown into turmoil with Tim Sylvias doping, and just when it looked to be falling in place again! The Middleweight division seems all but forgotten as Murillo seems to have taken his ball, or belt as the case may be, and gone home. The lightweight division seemed all but forgotten until the next pay per view and we haven't seen a title fight there since February of last year. In fact other than the very active lightheavyweight and welterweight divisions we haven't seen much at all.

Once again another exciting bout in the Lightheavyweight division. It seems like the champ makes a division as Couture proudly stands at the top of the hill and takes on all comers. Now Belfort has already lost to Couture when they were both Heavyweight so there might be some interest there again.

In the other Title fight BJ Penn jumps up a division to face Matt Hughes for the welterweight belt. Guess ZUffa couldn't find anyone in Matts division to challenge him so he shopped around. Not sure what BJ can get done here, obviously he has thrived on his blazing speed which will probably be affected by the extra 15 pounds and his Jiu Jitsu ability, which he often seems to not want to use. I imaginr unless Hughes really slips up and puts himself in a position to be submitted He will walk away with this fight too. Remember the last two times Matt got in trouble was against Newton when he won the title and was nearly submitted and his two losses against Dennis Hallman who submitted him both times.

Saddam got busted finally?
Well they finally got Saddam or at least a good impersonation of him at last. By the looks of him he was probably suffering more free than he will in custody. Now Im curious to see how Iraq reacts to the toppled dictators capture. Will they stop killing our boys over there? Who knows. Cant just let them have their damn country and run it cause god forbid they might make a sweetheart deal with someone we dont like. Hey didn't we empower Saddam? Maybe we should just let them choose!

USC and the sad state of College Football
I have always been a bigger fan of College football than Pro Football ceause it always seemed purer to me. Today with USC being number 1 in both polls and being excluded from the BCS Title game just makes that much stronger of an argument for a playoff system. Now I will be honest and admit though I am disappointed that the trojans aren't playing in the Sugar Bowl as they should have at the same time being somewhat of a traditionalist I am glad that they are playing in the Rose Bowl against a very talented Michigan in what will also prove to be a Championship Game. Well at least it will be a championship game if the Trojans win because they should get at least the title in one of the polls.

I realize College football conferences dont want what the rest of the world would love to see because there wouldn't be nearly as much money in it as there is in the bowl system. However with a system that was supposed to eliminate the exact type of problem that it is causing there must be another solution. The days of divided National Championships was to be over and yet it seems to continue with the same crud that was supposed to be eliminated by the new system.

Honestly one might be able to argue that both LSU and Oklahoma are better than USC but its a shame that they wont have a chance to show it on the field. Even with an eight team playoff everyone who could possibly have a legitamite shot would get into the playoffs and have a shot at the title. They could even have various bowls host the higher level games. It might even be possible to eliminate all the problems with a four team playoff using BCS to calculate the top four teams. With this system you would have Oklahoma versus Michigan and LSU versus USC with the winners in the Championship. Who could argue against the champion? If Michigan did win both games even being the number four team going in after having gotten through their other two opponents no one would doubt they were the champs. Would one extra game really hurt that much? It certainly would silence any problems that continually surface?

Fantasy Basketball
I joined a fantasy basketball league this season and have been amazed at how just a fantasy league turned me into a big time follower of the game. Basically our league is really simple. 12 teams, each team plays one other head to head in 5 stat categories; points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. So after a week the two teams depending on the category split the 5 points up as victories, losses or ties. Before i hardly cared other than maybe the lakers who played or what was going on in the league. Now I check stats, live, watch games regularly, and keep track of whats going on. It has been fun so far as our team has managed to float in second place and we are still improving it on a weekly basis.
