Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset
I figured I would like the H700 since I have always liked my H650 headset which is basically the same design but slightly larger or so I though. In actuality the H700 has several improvements over the H650 namely the signal quality is better, it uses the new motorola mini usb charger so I can charge it with RAZR charger, and it is significantly smaller so it fits me much better. Its small emnough that I barely feel it on my ear, the picking up of calls is much smoother and it still has the feature of closing the boom mic shuts off the device making it very economical on battery life. It really is nice how Motorola didnt mess with any of the stuff that worked well and only changed the things that made it a stronger product. If you are looking for a headset I highly reccomend the H700 and heck if you are on a tight budget see if you can pick up a H650.

San Pedro Football
Went to the Pedro High Football game last night and caught a great game, First off I went because I have been promising my soon to be goddaughter that I was going to see her perform but something always comes up. Well Pedro is in the playoffs and Venice is the highest ranked team in the city according to maxpreps so I figured I had better not risk the posibility of another week going by. When I got there, the game was venice 20-7. I figured it was going to be ugly. Pedro scored pretty quickly to make it 20-14 which was how the first half finished. The Pedro marched the ball down the field to make it 20-20 on a missed PAT. There was some back and forth ball and Finally from good field position Pedro was able to march it in to make it 27-20. Venice marched it back and scored the touchdown to make it 27-26 but decided to go for. Pedro stuffed the play, got the ensuing on side kickoff and killed the clock to take the game.

New Dollar program to spike interest in Golden Dollar
Hoping to gain the same kind of attention that the State Quarter has brought to coins Congress passed the Presidential $1 Coin Act in hopes of generating interest in the Dollar coin. The plan is to release the Presidents in order they served, only the dead ones for at least 2 years... Should be cool. Im looking forward to getting this collection going as well. I have really enjoyed the Quarters collecting and was just wondering the other day what they would come up with 2 years left in the state program.

UFC 65
Really enjoyed the fights Saturday night. While I have been a fan of Matt Hughes for some time, well honestly since he won the belt which was my second pay per view I bought, but I was glad to see Georges St Pierre win the belt last night. It was a good passing of the guard and I think St. Pierre will be a good standard bearer for the UFC. He just comes off as a nice guy. In the other title fight of the night I was impressed with Tim Silva's ground game as it allowed him to survive to get the 5 round decision in rather boring but decisive fashion over Jeff Monson. One of the other fights I was really looking forward to Joe Stevenson won in pretty decisive fashion over Dokonjonosuke Mishima winning by guillotine choke in the first round. The other match I was really looking forward to was Brandon Vera versus Frank Mir and Ver proved he may be the dog to watch in the Heavyweight division as he took out Mir in the first round as well sending a pretty strong message that he might be ready to face Silva who later called him out. Hope to see that one come to fruition sometime soon. Vera looks to be the George St Pierre of the heavyweight division. It was a strong entertaining card enjoyed it and Im looking forward to the double whammy in December.

UCLA Student who was tazed inappropriately?
I'm not an expert on use of force or anything but once again we have seen the police blow another colossal blow to their reputation by getting into a battle of the egos with a UCLA student this week and trying to taser him into submission only to have to carry the guy out as they probably should have when he first didn't comply. I used to work in an arena where we often had to use force to a certain extent doing security in a Hospital. There were tons of times we had to deal with non compliant individuals like the student in the video and there just was no need to taser him. Yes he wasn't complying but the officers put themselves in worse situation almost inciting a riot by insisting he stand. I can imagine the next civil disobedience outside students refusing to get up zap zap zap zap like bug zappers going off. This was crap and I think the officers who got into the battle of the with the student are going to be the biggest losers. In my opinion the student won because he got carried out. Check out the video!
NCAA Football Playoffs
Sure its just a pipe dream now but Terry Bowden has neem trying to give it some perspective to show how it could be a reality. Honestly 10 years ago who would have thought that a Pac 10 or Big 10 champion wouldnt be at the Rose Bowl on January 1st. The games this way would all be very compelling and would spread the games out from Christmas week to the week after New Years. Still quite reasonable. Come on NCAA everyone wants it show some backbone and make it happen.
Bowden breaks down his brackets as would be standard with the BCS poll and for example last week the eight teams would be broken into many bowl games.

Orange: (4) Florida vs. (5) Texas – Sat., Dec. 23, 8 p.m. ET

The Tesla Roadster is the well rounded electric car that the world has been asking for for some time. It has great performance with a 0-60 in about four seconds and top speed of over 130 mph. The battery recharges in 3.5m hours and has a range of about 250 miles. Basically its a win, win, win. The cost is around $100k which seems pretty reasonable. I actually found out about this car after reading up about the founder, Martin Eberhard on the Blackberry Pearl website.

Xbox Live
Well I have been fooling around with Gears of War the last few days, Honestly I am not much of a shooter, more of a sports guy, but I like the genre. I played so horribly on Xbox Live I thought I heard someone say they were going to report me for sucking. Anyways I have really liked the xbox live marketplace. I like that I can download the trials I want. That was how I decided I liked Moto GP 06, and today I found I really liked Fifa 07 as well. The marketplace was a stroke of brilliance and while I am yet to find a game that is as good online as Halo 2 but I Imagine it will be coming.

Professional Submission League
Well theres another event for me to throw money at, like there wasnt enough already. The Professional Submission League has put together another great looking show. I was pretty jazzed about the matches they put together for the LASubX show they did in May. On that card they had put together an interesting cross section of MMA fighters and sub only fighters. That is probably what is most interesting about this league to me. Of course it doesnt seem to be a league yetbut hey the cars are fascinating, the tickets aren't that expensive and for mew they are local. Heres the lineup for November 17th:
Randy Coutoure vs. Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza
Marcelo Garcia vs. Jake Shields
Kron Gracie vs. Bill "The Grill" Cooper
Jeff Glover vs. Shane Rice
Rani Yahira vs. Javi Vasquez
I may be alone in this opinion, well atleast it looks that some people agree with me, but smartphones strike me a sbeing too much smart and not enough phone. You can never really find a good balance. The o2 Stealth appears to take direct aim at my sentiments. Its a slider model running Windows Mobile 5.0 with a touch screen. Basically that means you have a nice phone form factor and a touch screen in one. This phone has a boatload of features including Built-in Wireless LAN 802.11b/g, 2 Megapixels CMOS camera with auto focus, MiniSD memory card slot, Playback support: MIDI, MP3, WMA, WAV, AMR, AAC, AAC+. I cant wait to see how well this thing functions because it certainly seems on paper to do it all.

Pride Bushido
Well I am really looking forward to the Pride Bushido show coming up on November 12th though it actually takes place this weekend. It will crown the Welterweight tournament champion and the lightweight champion as takanori gomi takes on Aurelio to try and avenge the non-title upset he suffered earlier this year. Also have to wonder if the tournament winner gets dibbs on Henderson's belt seeing as he was knocked out in the semi's. Looks like a good one and then we have Hughes versus St Pierre on the 18th.

Lost my damn iPod
Well it finally happened I lost my damn iPod last nught. I went to a friend of a friends to work on her computer and threw my iPod in my backpack before I got out of the car. When I got back in the car I went to get my iPod out and noticed the pocket was open and no iPod. I'm not sure if this gives me carte blanche to buy the 80gb model I've been eyeing for some time now, especially considering I still have the 1gb nano. We'll see what happens!

Nintendo Wii
I have been checking out the Wii and the more I check it out the more I wonder if I didnt make a mistake getting the 360. I really like my DS and have a feeling that the Wii is going to be special like that. We'll see after I pick up my copy of gears of war this week how I feel. I am really hoping they release the DS browser soon. I have been hunting all over fo the damn thing and yeah I know its out in Japan and Europe but what about here. I have seen potential release dates anywhere from Ocyober to December of this year but would like to see something ironclad. I finally picked up Trauma Center for the DS which despite Brain Age and Nintendogs was the one game I feklt I had to have. My daughter actually bought the Nintendogs but the virtual pet thing is cool. I'll let you know what I think on Tuesday. Its gonna be a big week of gaming for me since I am getting gears and imagine my Trauma Center will be arriving both on Tuesday.... Should be a fun if unproductive week for me!

Blackberry Pearl
Got a chance to get my hands on the Blackberry Pearl tonight and I think I am in love. Cant help but like the package. Its basically Razr sexiness with Blackberry functionality. I cant wait til Cingular starts to carry them. I asked the reps at T-Mobile and they said that the early issues with them have been fixed. We'll see hopefully when I get my Cingular version!

Back in August I told you about the infamous Munky King I stumbled into in China Town. Today on Current they were talking about another store that specializes in Vivyl toys as well. It is called Kid Robot which has a great online store. It would be really easy to drop a pretty penny since everything is a collectible. There are even some blanks that you can use to create your own!

International Fight League
Well the semifinals are now over and honestly I cant say I am surprised with the results. Honestly I would have been surprised if they hadnt turned out this way. Pat Militechs Quad City Silverbacks will be facing Matt Lindland's Portland Wolfpack in the finals on December 29. Really it just confirms what many of us MMA fans already know and that is that the best two fight gyms in the US are Militech Fighting Systems in Iowa and Team Quest in Oregon. It will be interesting to see if other prominant gyms will follow suit and put together teams. While this really isnt the focus of the IFL, they actually get celebrity fighters/coaches it shows that the real gyms actually put together a better product. To me the should form there San Jose team with AKA, Florida team with American Top Team, and maybe a New Mexico ream from Greg Jackson's gym. Heck they could expand Internationally and pull in a Chute Boxe team and Brazilian Top Team or could you imagine the Red Devil sport club and Russian Top Team or even Takada Dojo? Under this kind of concept the teams would probably flourish. Hopefully they change to this kind of premise in the future.
