An Interesting Thought
With all the scandal in the church going on today I found this quote interesting. St Francis de Sales said of the many transgressions that caused people to flee the Catholic Church during the reformation, "While those who give scandal are guilty of the spiritual equivalent of murder [i.e., destroying other people's faith in God by their terrible example], those who take scandal-who allow scandals to destroy their faith-are guilty of spiritual suicide." It is interesting to think that while the priests who comit these scandalous acts are comiting spiritual murder, those who abandon their faith, or run from it are comiting Spiritual Suicide.

Linkin Park Live in Texas
Linkin Park Live in Texas is the new DVD/CD Combo put out by the band. AT first I was most interested in the CD but after viewing the DVD I have changed my mind. The show is great and really is as close to being there without being there. I saw the band live when Meteora was coming out a small venue called the Wiltern Theatre and the energy they play with really is conveyed in this DVD. Also for diehard fans there is a new LP Underground membership with a bunch of stuff that comes along with it. Now you might be thinking that it might not be worth it to join but it was thanks to my membership I got to see them live for free.

Can't customize your car? Customize your Nextel!
Well as any red blooded american boy I would love to spend tons of money customizing my Honda Civic. However since Im the father of two and husband as well I have held back in some awful sense of fiscal responsibility, or displaced irresponsibility depending on who you ask. Now though I have gotten into the custom scene which as you can guess by my title is not a custom car rather a custom cell phone.

I had seen the recent outbreak of flashing phone batteries and unique phone housings and it peaked my interest. I went to my local Nextel dealer, I actually have a Boost Mobile which is just the prepaid incarnation of Nextel, to look at what options were available. While the local dealer didn't have a lot, I was able to get a new housing which is clear with flames on it, much like a 57 chevy's flames which coincidentally my friends? point out is a declaration of my flaming homosexuality.

With such a huge push in Nextel customization I figured there would be tons of web sites selling these kits. One Such site Gyvergear.com has all of the custom options that I have seen at fairly reasonable prices. I picked up the battery and antenna to complete my project. The catch is twofold though. One should have a Nextel tech install the housing as I understand it is a fairly tricky job which can cost up to $45.00 and the changing of the housing voids the Nextel warranty. Since I have a Boost the latter of these concerns didn't affect me.

It gets worse though because as with the majority of phones the Boost Live where you can pick up wallpapers, ring tones, and games to further personalize the package! I particularly like the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and Maxim Balls games I purchased recently.
