Los Angeles College Football
Well if the Bruins and Trojans keep playing well we may not ever need pro ball in LA. The Trojans have been a surrogate pro team of late for us and boy have they been trying to make things exciting but so far even when they play poorly no one can keep up with them. Their first real test comes next week though and they had better be firing on all pistons against Notre Dame or they will give up their cinderella dream of winning three straight.
UCLA has been a really pleasant surprise and well they are definitely not at that level that USC is at of course really other than maybe Texas who also seems destined for a date in the Rose Bowl who is? The Bruins got by Cal in a real morale booster coming back from 12 down in the 4th to win. Now looking at UCLA's schedule they might just come into the SC game undefeated as their toughest test before them is Arizona State their second to last game. Now I know I ride the Trojan bandwagon a lot and I always have. But i also am a UCLA fan and the thought of the two being undefeated when they play in November is awesome.

UFC 55
Well watched what seemed like another in the endless stream of UFC coverage last night with UFC 55. Its weird after wanting for so long to be able to see more I almost feel like its getting to be too frequent now. After a week when UFC denied press passes to my favorite MMA website Sherdog.com I am begining to worry that they are starting to overdo it. I enjoyed the show now dont you fret but it wasn't with the same excitement as other pay per views. Might be the way the main event ended with Arlovski finishing Buentello in 15 seconds or the undercard match they aired that was a no contest with a kick to the nads rather than the submission victory they didn't, who knows. The night started off with Joe Riggs who has dropped yet another weight class to welterweight finishing Chris Lytle with a brutal elbow that split him open forcing the doctor's to stop the fight. Riggs looks like he'll be a good welterweight but even after dropping all that weight I wonder if he could give the best at 170 a run for their money. Renato Sobral was able to finish Chael Sonnen of Team Quest with a triangle choke after a fast and furious fight. Apparently these two had faced off prior to this matchup but I couldn't find anything on sherdog about the fight this was supposedly a rematch of. Next up was the battle between Forrest Griffin and Elvis Sinosic which everyone was worried would go to the ground. Now Sinosic has shown that he has finishing skills having caught Jeremy Horn but tonight for some reason he chose to stand with Forrest and much like when Tito chose to stand with Chucj it didnt work out well for him. Elvis was holding his own on his feet for most of the first round and then he rocked Forrest who woke up charged Elvis caught him and finished him. Forrest then gave what was perhaps the greatest play by play evr after the match with Joe Rogan. It was a great fight even though it did end in the first round. Well next up was the main event between Arlovski and Buentello which was disappointing at best. The two started trading and then in an awkward moment the both seemed to shoot and Arlovski caught Buentello with an overhand right which knocked him out on top of Arlovski which most who were watching didnt catch.

Trippen Shoes
I was watching Current and the had a pod on Trippen Shoes in Germany. The three shops are in Berlin but you can order off the Internet. The shoes are expensive but they look to be really high quality. Maybe I'll try out a pair,.

Michelle Wie
Michelle Wie has announced that she was turning pro today along with her two endorsement contracts with Nike and Sony. It will be interesting to see if she is to Womens Golf what Tiger has been to the men's game or even more interesting if she will be that to the men's ga,e as well. It sounds like she'll be playing only part time for the next couple of years though apparently like 8 tournaments.

Bio Diesel
As a guy whou used to work in the port I have always been certain that trucks were a huge cause of gnarly air pollution. Sure there are tons of cars but if you have ever showered after spending a day working around trucks you know they are really dirty. Well I have been keeping a slight eye on the whole concept of Bio Diesel and was really pleased to see the website BioTrucker.com and how it is geared to getting more truckers to use Bio Diesel. The fuel can be part bio diesel and part regular, apparently 20 Bio 80 Regular is a popular mix or one can even run a full Bio mix. The benefits are quick to be seen though. Its a much cleaner running fuel that can be supplied with vegetables so we wouldnt be as reliant on Petroleum Providers so its a win win. Not to mention the fuel requires almost no modification to existing Diesel vehicles. That means theres no conversion cost like with other clean fuels meaning business can be more quick to adopt these environmentally friendly fuels. For more info on the subject check out BioDiesel.org

Web Traffic Update
Wow talk about an immediate reaction. I closed my entry for Lindsay Lohan and my hits dropped down to 30 from a high of 450. Oh well my host was sending me nasty grams that I had exceeded my bandwidth though to their credit they never turned off the website.

Ultimate Fight Night 2
Well I enjoyed Ultimate FIght Night 2. The night started off with Drew Fickett showing Josh Koscheck tht you have to win the whole 15 minutes or you might lose it all as he was able to hit Koscheck with a brutal knee and was then able to catch him in a rear naked choke after being dominated by Koschecks wrestling game for nearly three rounds. In the second fight Brandon Vera was able to backup some big talk by knocking out Fabiano Scherner in the secound round of their matchup. In the third bout Chris Leben surprised everyone by beat Edwin Dewees with an armbar in the first round. Now Chris is definitely a standup kind of guy and Dewees had no respect for Chris' ground game and got beat for it. In the main event David Loiseau was able to cut open Evan Tanner with some tough elbows causing the doctor to stop it in the second round. Not a bad night for the live show as there were all finishes and no decisions which always makes for a better show.
Looking forward to Friday's pay per view Arlovski headlines against Paul Buentello for the heavyweight strap. In light heavy action Forest "Gump" Griffin will be thext guy to roll over Elvis "Rock and Bleed" Sinosic. Sinosic is basically a replacement can for Forrest and it upsets me that they are giving him such high billing. It would server the UFC right if Sinosic slapped a submission on Forest for the win. In another Light Heavyweight bout Chael Sonnen will take on the very tough Renato Sobral. I did some research on Sonnen and he has lots of experience though not all of it good. Looks like they might be setting up Sobral for a title fight or maybe a match with forrest later down the road for a title shot. Joe Riggs will faceoff against Pete Sell in a battle of Middleweights trying to get back on the right path. In another Middleweight bout Dennis Hallman will faceoff against Jorge Rivera, this one is interesting because I suspect they are trying to recreate Hallman as a middleweight even though he has fought at lightweight and welterweight already. The rest of the card is relative unknowns and cans who Im guessing weren't good enough for TUF2.

TV for your cell phone
Well I found a new reason why I absolutely have to have a Treo 650 and its called Mobi TV. Its like having DirecTV for your mobile phone. They offer twenty channels including ESPN and Discovery. For the most part its news, sports, music, and business. The service is 9.99 a month. Not a bad deal and you can have tv with you anywhere. One thing they do strongly advise is to have an unlimited data plan.....

New Toys
Well I made out like a bandit for my birthday this year. I got my psp, and some games and gadgets for that, and for the xbox I got a wireless headset and the network connection so I can play live in my room. The headset had great ratings but I seem to be having trouble with it as it doent seem to stay on that long but it seems like the charging cable doesnt connect real well.
