Boston finally ends the curse.
Well it looks like the damn curse is finally over. The Red Sox not only won it all but they did it in decisive fashion. Makes you wonder what guys like the old BambinoCurse.com are gonna do with their web sites. Hey if anyones fans deserves a championship it was definitely the BoSox. No one supports their teams like Boston does, and to have such a tormented past it must have been rough.

What a crazy year
Well its been an interesting time lately. The Red Sox are up 3-0 which appears to be impossible for the curse to even catch up with them but of course thanks to them we now no we can never say never. Theres a pretty cool sounding lunar eclipse tonight which is supposed to make the moon glow red so Im gonna see if I can snap some photos of it tonight. Changing gears Im really impressed with the new google desktop search. It is really helpful with my work computer as it keeps track of just about everything I work with including files, email, instant messages, and web sites. I'll give some more feedback as I get it.

October 22nd A busy day and lots to blog!
Well today was my youger baby's 9th birthday so I picked her up from school and tooke her to her cousins football game. Lawndale HS was playing Palos Verdes HS. The game started at 3:00 cuz for some reason like my old high school they have no lights for their field. Im sure its a property value thing for the big houses around the High School. Well anyways the game was an awesome back and forth affair that went down to the last minute but Lawndale won 28-21. After the game the girls went home with my sister in law and I went to pick up my nephew at his school. That night had my parents over for a lil birthday dinner and we watched UFC It was a pretty good night of fights, which surprised me a little but I'll go into that in another post.

Verizon Wireless Broadband
Talk about an exciting prospect. Wireless broadband is finally here! While I will always use Verizon at work because of the quality of their network, I was disappointed with how long they took to adapt to the Palm One Treo 600 but they finally have it so the best phone is one the best network.

Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess is one of the fastest, fully mobile wireless Internet data solutions available. Quickly download complex files and view email attachments at typical speeds of 300-500 kbps, capable of reaching speeds up to 2 Mbps^.

If what Verizon says about speed then the 80.00 a month would be worth it for people who need to be able to connect from anywhere. It would be great for work!

Boston Red Sox
Shhhh dont tell anyone but Ive been a closet Red Sox fan since last October when I saw firsthand how Boston pulls for their baseball team. Not that I would root for them over the Angels or the Dodgers but definitely would against anyone else. Anyways I was jazzed when they came back to beat the yankees after being down 3-0 and sweeping the final four to win the series. My only question is does this mean the curse is lifted or do they have to win the big one still?

Dewar Family Reunion
Well Saturday was interesting as we had our first Dewar family reunion. One of my relatives is a singer of some apparent fame, Betsy Duncan Hammes who launched a most successful career as a singer and actress. Her professional performances include variety concerts in Europe, the U.S.O. in Vietnam, nightclubs throughout the United States and appearances in movies and television. In 1969, she married Ever John Hammes, the founder of In-sink-erator Manufacturing Company in Racine, Wisconsin. Her cousin Frank was also awesome as he used to work for Skunkworks and though we didn't talk much about his work it was exciting to meet him too.

It was a fun day in all til it came time to check into our hotel. My dad had booked us a room in Comfort Suites Rancho Mirage on Exepdia.com. Well apparently Expedia is supposed to double confirm the rooms with the hotel i.e. they fax the reservation to Comfort Suites who the books the room and then faxes it back to Expedia. Well none of this had happened so when we showed up at the hotel the clerk informed us that all of the rooms were taken. He suggested I call Expedia, which I did and who told me that the hotel owner had randomly decided to stop taking expedia's reservations. So we were assed out and rather than stay in another hotel we decided to drive back that same night. It was a shitty situation that both Comfort Suites and Expedia contributed to so try not to use either if you want to avoid a huge headache!

Sidekick Developers Kit
Well I finally got brave and installed my developers kit for my sidekick2, which by the why I am convinced is one of the best devices out there now that it has sync capability. The developers kit allows you to load, via USB, developed applications that arent for sale yet but which are in some form of testing. The developers community hasnt gotten real big yet and there was some lag between sidekick I and sidekick II since people wanted to wait and see if there were going to be dramatic changes. The only thing more I could ask of the old sdekick would be a checkbook register but it seems someone is already working on one.

Slacker at Posting
Well as usual I have been slacking in the old posting duties. So I'll make one huge monster post.

Friday night I went to Whittier to watch my nephew play Cal High. For his sake lets just say it didnt go well. They lost 24-6 to fall to 2-3 on the season. I picked my nephew up after the game. He and his family spent the night at our house and we played Xbox that night.

On Saturday we had the Ultreya Regional where I had to work directing traffic. It was a long hard day but it was a really good event. Saturday evening we had the nephews at the house again so we had another xbox-fest.

On Sunday I had the unique ezperience of taking my wife to a chinese medicine doctor. The shop was pretty cool. All olong one side was drawers like in a dresser where they kept different herbs for the making of teas. We waited for some friends to see the doctor. When we went in it was kind of cool The doctor took my wifes blood pressure and then checked her pulse and without saying anything to her promptly told her exactly what was ailing her. I was impressed.

Next we saw his daughter who is a chiropractor and acupuncturist who gave Mimi some acupuncture and then some acupressure. They prepared her six bags of tea to prepare during the week. This was kind of interesting to watch because they pull out 7 full size plates and take a handfull of various herbs and put them on each plate. When they have the equivalent of what would fit in a freezer bag they are done.
