I have long been a fan of Orbit gum ever since they introduced their Mojito flavored gum. Today I discovered Sangria Fresca which is awesome as well. Check it out!
Well what has to be the most anticipated phone since the iPhone is the very fist phone via HTC called the G-1. What makes it so special is it carries Android the cellular operating system developed by Google to make phones better. The verdict so far sounds pretty solid with a complete app store coming to T-Mobile at the release. The phone goes for $179 with new 2 year contract so its priced pretty well. The keyboard got strong reviews as did the screen. Too bad its going to be on T-Mobile maybe they will get their 3G network up in time to run this if not there is always the wi-fi option.

UTSTarcom for AT&T
Not only is this a blatant shot at the sidekick but has some very cool features including Bluetooth, GPS, Still/Video Camera and support for Mobile TV. Looks cool from the photo and sounds like it's got a nice list of features to boot.

Out with the old in with the new
You know its interesting to see the whole experience with Yankee Stadium as I have never had the honor of visiting the place. In fact I have never seen it with my own eyes. It's a place I hated as a kid because it was often a roadblock for my Dodgers winning it all. Some of my fondest baseball memories were victories over the Yankees, Angels on their way to the World Series and Dodgers in the World Series. I hate to see the place go. Even though from my vantage point it wont change much. I'll dislike the new place just as much.
Im also glad that the Dodgers owner found a way to get all of the new stadium features he needed without tearing down the old stadium!

Abel C. "Al" Galletti
I went to High School and ran around with Sam, Phil and Joey Galletti and worked with them at Galletti Brothers Foods and for Al, and his brothers Buddy and Joe. Joe was the President of Galletti Brothers and while I didn't know him as well as I did Joe who was Sam's Dad I do remember he did a lot in and for San Pedro. Heres a copy of the Obit from the Daily Breeze;
Peacefully passed away in his home, surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and caregivers, September 16, 2008. He is survived by Sarah Galletti (wife); his children, Maria and Martin Basch (daughter and son-in-law), Lina and Nino Palma (daughter and son-in-law), Sammy and Josan Galletti (son and daughter-in-law) and Joey Galletti (son); his eight grandchildren, Heidi Basch, Peter Palma, Marisa Palma, Max Basch, Sarah Galletti, Al Galletti, Abel Basch and Cosimo Galletti; his siblings: Buddy and Gail Galletti (brother and sister-in-law), Joe Galletti (brother), Angie and Henry Fischer (sister and brother-in-law), and seventeen nieces and nephews. Al Galletti came to San Pedro in 1959 on his honeymoon with his wife, Sarah. He fell in love with the seaside community that reminded him of his birthplace in Terrasini, Sicily. He never returned to Detroit, Michigan, from where he came, but instead brought his entire family to join him. Son of Salvatore, a fisherman, and Maria Galletti, Al rose to become one of the most prominent figures in San Pedro. He developed numerous projects including the Doubletree Hotel in San Pedro's Cabrillo Marina, he founded the "Night of a Thousand Stars" for the Mary Star of the Sea High School and he served as the Chairman of the Board to San Pedro Peninsula Hospital. Al served as the Fish and Game Commissioner of California under Governor Jerry Brown. He lived a full life, surrounded by friends and family, he brought joy and magic to all that he touched. Words do not express how much he will be missed. A public viewing will be held on Friday, September 19, 2008 from 4:00-7:00pm, followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, September 20, 2008, 9:00 a.m. at Mary Star of the Sea Church followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park.

GTA IV
I have been addicted to GTA 4 lately. I wasnt going to pick it up but then I made the mistake of playing my nephews copy when we were up in Richmond and I was hooked. The game is definitely not for the faint of heart as the language, violence, and storyline are pretty rough. But hey if you watch any TV on a pay channel this is nothing new. Basically in the game you play as Niko Bellic who is running from a past in Russia and the crap his cousin tells him about the United States and ita great opportunities only to find things arent so grand. He basically falls into the underworld and kills his way up the ladder getting backstabbed along the way. The games a lot of fun and really draws you in though I have no idea how far along I have played we will see,

UFC 88
I was really happy with the card Saturday. Rashad Evan's gameplan was awesome. Basically he said sure I'm a top tier wrestler but I'm not going to try and take Chuck down and tire myself out rather I'll stand with him and knock him out. What Rashad did took huge juevos. He came within a couple of inches of getting knocked out himself when he caught Chuck. Rich Franklin was pretty solid in his win over Matt Hammil for his trip to 205 but hell if the UFC is going to move everyone at 185 up to 205 why dont they just disolve the damn division.
Sorry, I dont think Rich is going to have a huge amount of success at 205 though there was a time before he went to 185 when we thought he was the next champ at 205. Dan Henderson took a unanimous decision from Rousimar Palhares in what wasn't probably a great bout for either guys career. Palhares reminds me a lot of WEC champ Filho but he couldn't deal with Henderson's game....Nate Marquardt dominated Martin Kampman ina one round stoppage and Tim Boetsch continued his winning ways and Jason McDonald dominated Jason Lambert. Really I hate to see it but Anderson Silva has made 185 a pretty boring division. So basically we have Silva sitting at the top of the pile followed by Henderson and Franklin whom Anderson has decimated already. Then there is another solid tier of guys who typically cant break through those two who can't break through Anderson Silva. This would include Nate Marquardt, Patrick Cote, who is getting a shot despite the fact that he wouldnt get thrugh either of those two guys, Jason McDonald, and Michael Bisping. Its settled thats why they throw a guy like Cote at Silva hoping he can catch him and shake up the division...

I played through my first couple of rounds of Tiger 09 and it is really a blast. Game play is similar to previous versions but like Madden you play at your own level to some extent so it has a more custom feel to it.

Wow what a week
Hey its been a heck of a week for this geek! First I return from vacation find out while I was busy playing Madden 09 that Tiger Woods 09 had been out not too mention I am working on cold/flu number 2 over two weeks, just because you have had a cold doesn't mean you cant catch another I learned the hard way this weekend. Tiger Woods 09 is supposedly improved in every way which I am truly excited to hear because apparently I was one of the few who liked 08. Tivo and DirecTV announced they will be doing another Tivo for DirecTV, o yes hell has apparently frozen over but where in the heck are the upgrades I was promised? Maybe I can move my old Tivo into my room and put the new one in the living room so me and the wife can finally stop fighting over which shows to record, My softball team kicks into full gear this week and honestly it looks like they will be a fun bunch to work with. Hey did I mention that I have been playing with Google's new browser Chrome? Its pretty cool as it runs much faster than IE but I am not sure that I can live without all the features. Right now if I had to rate all four browsers I have on my computer it'd be IE, Chrome, Safari, and then Firefox.I know that what contradict what most people would say but hey I am entitled to my own opinion. The Dodgers seem to be heading in the right direction again which is great after dropping seven in a row they have won four in a row and now sit 1.5 games behind Arizona. The Angels meanwhile have a magic number of 7 to clinch the western division so the baseball gods seem to be smiling on LA this year to some extent. And finally to top off my geeky week Jobs is having another Apple special event next week with speculation that he will be announcing new iPods and possibly Mac book updates....
