Latino 96.3 ripped off?
I was listening to Latino 96.3 today and they were discussing the fact that the money for their 50,000.00 contest was stolen today. They have like a commercial announcement that makes me suspent that this is a marketing ploy. They even have as part of the recording a guy who disguises his voice and supposedly calls in to taunt the dj that he has the money and supposedly he will call tomorrow to give more details. Sounds fake to me.
Update**
Turns out it was just another contest to amke things interesting. You have to find the 50 k fugitive and if you do you win the cash.

Flex Car
I have been thinking about tsking mass transit to work and was checking schedules yesterday when i noticed a link for flexcar. Basically its a business that rents cars out to members at 10.00 an hour insurance and gas paid for and so you can in essence take the bus to work and then check out a car for an hour. Basically if you go on the cheap plan its like 25 to sign up and 10 an hour so it really is reasonable....

The Ultimate Fighter Episode 6
Wow talk about a shocker. Tonights episode of TUF was awesome for the surprises and just the huge difference between the two teams. The challenge tonight was called the scarecrow which apparently was jiu jitsu training technique where they had a heavyweight stand like a scarecrow and one of the welterweights would have to circle around him without touching the ground. Well the rep for team Hughes was Joe Stephenson who damn near killed himself staying afloat for an hour circling and taunting Jorge Gurgel who is the other Jiu Jitsu master. Well when Joe finally did collapse we turn to team Franklin and Rich says aww we wont even try taking a tactical advantage by not wearing out one of his guys. And in typical fashion Matt decides to sacrifice up his least favorite fighter Jason Von Flue to take on Jorge Gurgel. Well the match was a huge shock as Jorge Gurgel was sent packing early and by the guy he was begging for since he got on the show. It was agreat fight though as Jason stood with Jorge and was able to survive a rear naked attempt at the end of round 1. After that Jason took the elad but both guys traded like crazy in what stired memories of the last TUF lightheavy final.
Next week we have the live event from 7:00 to 9:00 with the following lineup:
Pride Bushido 9
In what was a pleasant surprise for me in what will definitely go down as the best Pride since the last which arguably was the best ever except for the one before that.... Naw just kidding last nights Bushido was great except for that damn announcer not Bas the other one...and his ability to bill this as the best pride ever. In fact he might be right. The lil guys were awesome as they put on two parallel tournaments which were really strong full of acton and really entertaining. The stars of the night were many as there were several great fights. I'm really looking forward to new years for the Finals when the two new weight classes are fully christined into action. The results follow;
Welterweights 183 pound weight class
Paulo Filho over Ryuta Sakurai Submission (Armbar) 3:49 1 (Alternate Match)
Akihiro Gono over Daniel Acacio Decision (Unaminous) 5:00 2
Dan Henderson over Ryo Chonan KO (Punch) 0:22 1
Ikuhisa Minowa over Phil Baroni Decision (Unaminous) 5:00 2
Murilo Bustamante over Masanori Suda Submission (Armbar) 3:20 1
Lightweights 160 pound weight class
Dokonjonosuke Mishima over Charles Bennett Submission (Ankle Lock) 4:04 1 (Alternate Match)
Hayato Sakurai over Jens Pulver TKO (Strikes) 8:56 1
Joachim Hansen over Yves Edwards Decision (Split) 5:00 2
Takanori Gomi over Tatsuya Kawajiri Submission (Rear Naked Choke) 7:42 1
Luiz Azeredo over Naoyuki Kotani KO (Punch) 0:11 1
Welterweight Semi-Finals

It's great to be a guy
You can kill your own food.
The garage is all yours.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
You see the humor in Terms of Endearment.
You never have to clean the toilet.
Old friends don't annoy you if you've lost or gained weight.
Dry cleaners and haircutters don't rob you blind.
Monday Night Football.
Your bathroom lines are 80% shorter.
You can open all your own jars.
The National College Cheerleading Championship
None of your co-workers have the power to make you cry.
You don't have to shave below your neck.
If you're 34 and single nobody notices.
Everything on your face stays its original color.
When clicking through the channel, you don't have to stall on every shot of someone crying.
A beer gut does not make you invisible to the opposite sex.
Guys in hockey masks don't attack you.
You don't have to lug a bag of useful stuff around everywhere you go.
You can go to the bathroom without a support group.
Your last name stays put.
You can leave a hotel bed unmade.
When your work is criticized, you don't have to panic that everyone secretly hates you.
If someone forgets to invite you to something, he or she can still be your friend.
Your underwear is $10 for a three pack.
You can be showered and ready in 10 minutes.
Wedding plans take care of themselves.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
You know stuff about tanks.
A five day vacation requires only one suitcase.
Chocolate is just another snack.
You can be president.
You can quietly enjoy a car ride from the passenger seat.
Flowers fix everything.
You never have to worry about other people's feelings

The Ultimate Fighter 2
Well I managed to not see the last weeks episode until yeaterday so I figure I'll blog about it and the one from today together. Last week the welterweights were up and boy are they fun to watch. Basically the boys were getting cabin fever and did a little drinking to let off some steam. Franklins team won the challenge which was basically king of the hill on monkey bars. Marcus Davis from team Franklin chose to fight Joe Stevenson from team Hughes and wow was that a one sided affair. Joe didn't seem to phased by Marcus' great standup and took Marcus, threw him into a crucifix position, and elbowed him in the head til he tapped. Joe said he wanted to send a message to the rest of the guys and I'm guessing it was loud and clear.
This week it was the heavyweights who faced off and once again Team Hughes dominated Team Franklin in the challenge. Matt chose to matchup Tom Murphy against Rashad Evans. The fight was really slow paced but Rashad led the fight except for a brief moment when Tom got him in a choke. Rashad was able to hang on for the unanimous decision. Looking forward to the welterweights who are back up to bat next week and I am curious to see how far Matt can get under Jorge 's skin.

Inland Invasion
Well my buddy Pepe hooked me up and took me to KROQ's Inland Invasion show on Saturday. It was great. The lineup was great though I think I might have liked Weanie Roast better as a whole... probably because I only had to go to Irvine for this one but I also had a cold for this show. When we got there Fishbone was performing it's set and they are a truly awesome band. After their set we headed through the village and over to the main stage to stake out a good spot on the lawn. The lawn at the Hyundai Pavillion is huge compared to the one at Verizon wireless and also is much closer to the stage. The first performers were Travis Barker and DJ AM. Now this was interesting because basically it was Barker playing drums while AM did his magic. I was impressed with the fact that Barker could play nonstop throughout the set and he looked like he was busting his ass. It was a good way to warm up. Next up was The Bravery who were on the side stage last tiem I saw them and I actually think I liked their last performance better but probably because I like the intamacy of the side stage. I cant recall the order of the rest of thebands but basically I was pleasently surprised with Live as going in I had no idea who they were but they actually had a lot of older hits that I really like. Garbage played a great set and were another band that had been around a real long time. I was amazed at how Brittish singers talk with a heavy accent but dont sing with one. The Arcade Fire was awesome and I was really impressed with the number of instruments they had going at any given time. Jet was awesome and I am amazed at how much there sound reminds me of ACDC. Madness was also great though I imagine a lot of people were like my buddy and had no idea who they were though they managed to get a great reaction from the crowd. 311 was absolutely awesome. I had wanted to see them live for a long time and they did not disappoint. Beck was great as well allthough I would have requested some more of his current songs he's still a really funky white boy... wow that brings back memories of KC and the Sunshine Band... like that doesn't date me.... Weezer stole the night though with an awesome set. They are amazingly good live. I didnt stay for Oasis and Cake and from what I gathered from the Kevin and Bean show today its probably a good thing I didn't. The show was great as a whole and the experience at the venue was much nicer than I had had heard. I am always amazed at how well so many people can get along together during such a long day and KROQ is great at putting together these festivals together....Looking forward to Acoustic Xmas now.....

The Supermarket
A GUY GOES TO A SUPERMARKET AND NOTICES A BEAUTIFUL BLONDE WAVE AT HIM AND SAYS HELLO.
HE'S RATHER TAKEN BACK, BECAUSE HE CAN'T PLACE WHERE HE KNOWS HER FROM. SO HE SAYS "DO YOU KNOW ME?"
TO WHICH SHE REPLIES "I THINK YOU'RE THE FATHER OF ONE OF MY CHILDREN."
NOW HE THINKS BACK TO THE ONLY TIME HE HAS EVER BEEN UNFAITHFUL AND SAYS "MY GOD, ARE YOU THE STRIPPER FROM MY BACHELOR PARTY THAT I LAID ON THE POOL TABLE WITH ALL MY BUDDIES WATCHING, WHILE YOUR PARTNER WHIPPED MY ASS WITH WET CELERY AND THEN STUCK A CARROT UP MY BUTT?"
Oh no! Not again?
Like the trauma we have had to go through with Mary Kate and Ashley sliding into the starlette sewage pool wasn't enough they have decided to create a male empire with Dylan and Cole Sprouse Wow the names might not be familiar to you they certainly will be. The pair played the son of Adam Sandler in Big Daddy and currently star on the disney channell series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. I just dont see lil boys getting wowed like lil girls did about MK & A. But if anyone could pull this off it would definitely be Mary Kate and Ashley.....

College football is back
Well now the euphoria for all hetero males and probably a few homos has returned as football is back in full swing. Sure my Raiders dropped their first matchup to New England this week but my real love college ball started today. I watched Marshall and Kansas State, Notre Dame and Michigan, Cal and Washington and hope to watch Texas and Ohio State. One theme throughout the day was that Instant Replay is the best thing to happen in some time. There were several calls that woulod have been incorrectly called by the field officials which were corrected by the replay. Im sold. Its good!

Motorola Rokr
The Motorola Rokr is the infamous iTunes phone we have been waiting for and it while not the most exciting looking phone in the worl does look solid. The phone looks to be designed well to deal with its dual functions. It sounded like we can expect more iTune phones in the future.... Can anyone say Razr with iTunes now that would be awesome.

The Ipod Nano
Well along with the announced end of the iPod mini The newest member of the iPod family has arrived the iPod Nano. It is really a morph of all the things people like about various ipods and a few new things. It has a color screen, small form factor and original iPod design features. It also has razr thinness which could probably be likened to the new working arrangement between Apple, Motorola, and Cingular.... more on that in the next post. The 4 gb model would be a nice lil package though really I would probably wait for a 6 gb model as I have nearly filled up my ipod and with the announced release of the Harry Potter books I might need to go out and get a 60gb to keep up.

Raiders vr.s Patriots
Well my two favorite teams faced off last night and the Patriots demonstrated why they are the champs. Though I walked away feeling pretty good about how the Raiders played. Should at least be an entertaining season as I am guessing the raiders will at least have a winning record. Damn I am glad football is back, Speaking of football Madden 06 is supposed to be out soon for the PSP so Im looking forward to picking that and maybe Grand Theft Auto this month.

The Ultimate Fighter Season 2 Episode 3
Damn thats a long title. Well the lastt episode ended with Josh and Marvins fight. We know Melvin got racked up and broke his hand but we find out Josh hurt his arm and is also going to get xrays. Turns out his arm is broken and he is out of the competition. Dana told him it was dangerous to pick on a strong fighter in the early portion of the competition. So now they are looking at 2 of the better welterweights being out already. Fortunately they have accounted for this and have alternates and on came Jason Von Flue from Chuck Liddell's camp. He quickly becomes the new least favorite of the house and doesn't make any friends on the Hughes team with his melodramatics. Anyways on to the HEAVIES who are this weeks fight. We get to spend most of the episode hearing about Rob McDonald and his hurt shoulder. Well He decides after team Hughes wins this weeks challenge that he wants to fight Brad Imes who is huge but also hurt. Well as it turns out Imes who's not very experienced lucks into a Triangle choke and gets Rob to tap. Looked to me like Rob wanted to get finished though I might be wrong, just seems he wanted to go out fighting. This wasnt the greatest episode but the teaser for next week looks good and as always I'll be there!
