ESPN NFL 2K5
Wow not only do I love my xbox but this game has really grown on me. ESPN NFL 2K5 is a lot of fun to play. At first it might seem a lil hard for Madden converts like me but after a couple of gamed it seems to be pretty smooth. The gameplay seems more authentic than Madden was and all of the modes are pretty entertaining. Tongiht I was fooling around in career mode and went into my crib and was challenged by Carmen Elektra to a matchup. Turns out her team is a dreamteam so watch out. Anyways the crib is kind of interesting as you have this giant bachelor pad which you progressively decorate as you advance through the game. I figured I wouldnt bother with it much but it is entertaining. Anyways for 20.00 it is a really awesome game and a lot of fun!

Sidekick 2 & Intellisync for Sidekick
Well I went and got my sidekick 2 today, hey I held out for close to 18 hours before hitting up the local store! Anyways the new sidekick is worth every penny especially since it has intellisync so I can sync up my work stuff with it now. The old sidekick was awesome but having everything in a better package is always better. The Sidekick 2 is a little thinner but is also longer, wider? The controls are much easier to work with and I like every facet of its usability. The best improvements? 1) The built in camera. 2) Numeric keypad and Send/End buttons. 3) The speaker phone. and of course 4)The Intellisync. In my own opinion this feature boosts the sidekick from just being a toy to being a real device. The setup was a no brainer and everything worked first time out. The transition form my sidekick to my sidekick 2 was seamless as all of the applications are either on the sim or on the desktop interface website that tmobile has. Didnt lose any applications I had bought or any of the ring tones even! Anyways I heaped enough praise on the sidekick 2 so I'll call it a night!

My Birthday
Well I finally, though it sure doesnt show with the maturity of my weblog content, turned 35 today. Basically I took it easy today. My poor wife has been slaving away getting stuff prepared for tomorrow whne everyone is coming over for my bday celebration. The girls had a kickball tournament today which was a case scenario in poor organization as the coach for the school didnt make it today and a few parents took over getting the team ready. It was really hot out to make matters worse for the kids and they lost both their games but the girls seemed to have a good time. Then this evening I went to watch my nephews football game in Burbank which they won 43-16. They completely outclassed the other team which was much smaller in size and number of players. To top off the night we have been playing my new xbox game Maximum Chase. It isnt the greatest game in the world but it is fun. The best I can describe it is you spend one stage running from bad guys driving and then in the next stage you shoot at the bad guys trying to survive up to the end where you face an invincible crime boss in some hugely destructive vehicle thats nearly impossible to destroy. Its definitely tough and youll certainly kill plenty of hours trying to get through the stages.

XBox and other stuff!
Well I finally got my Xbox after a couple of months of being console less. I bought Counterstrike and Halo but really am looking forward to Halo2. I'll probably pick up Xbox and a wireless connection next week.

In other news I set up my office at work with a new, for me, desk that worked out really well. Its the shape of a U and has a cabinet to store stuff. It was a pain in the ass to put together but it worked out in the end.

As a gesture of appreciation I bought my wife some awesome flowers and bought the girls the tracphone cellular phone they wanted. Works out for us too as we can call the girls after school to see what they are up to.

Both my daughters have created online web sites using Blogger. Joannas website is joannadewar.blogspot.com and marianna's website is mariannadewar.blogspot.com check them out.

What a Friday
Well after a long week of implimenting Meditech I went with the guys from work to Magic Mountain. It was supposedly for a business trip but we didnt do anything but ride the rides. Including we rode dive devil which is kind of like a giant swing. I have an awesome vide but it was too big to upload to the website. The best ride there by far was Xtreme which at points has you falling straight at the the ground via some weird recliner seats which flip around. I got to ride the other coasters I hadnt done there namely superman and scream bith which were really good as well.

After I got back to East LA I took off for my nephews football game. They were playing a really tough Verbum Dei and ended up losing 22-12 but when I got there it was halfway through the third period and they were already down 22-0. So in reality I only got to see them play well. It was a great day all in all and after a tough week it was just what I needed.

Money's Pro Football Pick Em Week 1
So I joined Money form KROQ's Pro football pickem league. I didnt do well as of the end of the games tonight. I was right on 9 of 14 which put me in at 107 in my group and 124 in the nation. Unfortunately that was a pretty good week by my standards so I imagine things will even themselves out over the next few weeks. There were four people who were a perfect 14 of 14. I havent quite figured out how the National Rank works differently than the group rank other than maybe it has to do with the time you entered your picks. I tired looking it up and couldnt find it so hey I'll be lead blindly. The winner each week gets an xbox so hopefully I'll get luck one time.

NCAA Football
Well its nice to be in the full swing of football season for both college and pro football. USC played the game that they were supposed to yesterday dominating Colorado State. One thing I have noticed this season is truly how dangerous the Pac 10 seems to be this year. I dont think its going to be a walk in the park this year by any means. Oregon State nearly beat LSU the first week out. Sure the teams other than Cal dont seem to be accomplishing much but there are some real sleepers out there. Not to mention USC has to go through Notre Dame but by grace od god play them at the coliseum this year. Our other team UCLA managed a strong win against a weak Illinois after losing last week to Oklahoma State.

Since I have been living at work lately getting the Meditech project in place I was really glad to have the three games coverage on KLSX 97.1 this Sunday. Football just seems better on a fm channel than it does on AM. Of course the first game today was the defensive matchup of Cleveland versus Baltimore which was a total bore until the end of the game when Jeff "allegedly gay" Garcia woke up the offense and was able to win Clevelands first home game since the franchise was reborn. Must be nice to get it against the team that bailed cleveland in the first place.

My Website and its brief history
Well its been a little over two years since I started my site and I was looking through some of the control records this evening. I started the old history trek after having it dawn on me that most people use the karma voting and dont comment on entries I make, probably because the karma voting is so much easier. Now I dont have any dilusions of losts of traffice coming to this site nor do i even gear my entries towrds that. Its mostly an online diary of things I like and sometimes its just an online diary. By far my most popular entry which attracted outside visitors was on Sparks Energy Drink which got me 16 outside comments. Not bad for writing about stuff I like! Most of the comments that I get today are from casino bots that dump advertisements in the comments sections, but thats another battle. According to my log I average about 8.5 karma votes per entry not that I really think that I get 8 unique visitors but those are the facts. So I'm definitely not going to be able to sell any advertising any time soon but I like having my site and plan on keeping it going for awhile. Anyways not that anyone but me is interested but here are the stats for august!

Blackberry 7100t
rim7100t (12k image)

Well damnit it was ound to happen. I have been pretty much in love with my sidekick though there are some things that I dislike about it. You need to know that I change phone so often that they are now starting an office pool to see when I come to work with my new phone. Well this might be the phone to push me over the edge. The Blackberry 7100 for TMobile is being touted as a treo beater. While I'm not sure I want to go there yet it does have some awesome features and is the best blackberry to surface so far. It is phonecentric unlike previous blackberry models and it is also much less expensive than previous models coming in at around 200.00 suggested retail. Thats far less than other blackberries and also much less than the treos floating around at 450.00. Rim Blackberry has a solid reputation and I think they may have finally gotten into the the joe consumer market, though this will surely be a hit in the business world as well. Rim had previously been much like Nextel mostly a success in the business world but not that hot in the private sector. I think this phone and its price are about to change all of that.

Exhaustion has set in
Well it was bound to happen and today it finally did. I have been pulling some major hours at work lately getting ready for our new order entry software at the hospital. Today I just hit the wall physically and by the end of the work day was toast. Now I feel a cold coming on and that's the last thing I need right now. Hopefully if I load up on vitamin c I can get by without getting too sick. Oh well a si es la vida. I'm tring to find a nursing school that gives classes at night. I've decided that the best way to further my education in my field is in nursing. I love IS but I've always thought about nursing too. Having both backgrounds should be pretty lucrative as well. Ill probably go the lvn to rn route as it seems better to me to have a one year goal than to set off on a 2 year program right now.

Exhaustion has set in
Well I have pissed away most of my labor day weekend at work. Im here at work now just needed a break from the insanity. I am taking care of a software implementation. We are currently doing what those in the techy field would call a parrallel run. That means we simulate what we would do if the system were live. In laymans terms it means everyone is having to double work. The nurses have to place their orders the old fashioned way on paper and then turn around and enter them into the computer. Its actually proved to turn up a lot of problems that were good to fix ahead of time but it has also cranked up the anxiety about going live. Add that to the fact that I have two more projects that I wanted to finish by the time we went live with the software and you can see where I'm at. Add to the fact that the turn the f'ing air conditioning in my office off on the weekend and you really can see where I'm at right now. If you were physically here you could probably smell where I was at too. Anyways we are making headway and even though my daughters have forgotten what I look like it has been a good experience so far.
