Beastie Boys - The Mix Up
Ok I have to admit when I heard of the concept of a Beastie Boys album with no lyrics my thought was what is the point. Honestly I wouldn't have taken a second look if it hadnt popped up on the first page of iTunes and I figured I would check it out. I am glad I did. It is some of the best jazz music I have heard in a while. And honestly I'm not a huge jazz fan but I really like this. In fact I liked it so much I bought there old instrumental album The In Sound From Way Out! And might I say also really really good. If you like jazz I strongly reccomend it and even if you dont check it out they are some cool trippy songs.

Being Green
I was thinking with all of the press mother earth is getting that if I was a little wealthier it would be much easier to be green. Two of my favorite manufacturers are Tesla Motors and Living Homes. With Living Homes they sell very green houses of at least Silver LEED certification meaning they concern themselves with recycling gray water, solar energy, energy efficient appliances and recycled materials. The houses themselves are beautifully designed. The Tesla is of the same concept that green can be cool or in this case that driving an electric car can be fun. 0-60 in about 4 seconds and a top speed of over 130 mph not specs of your typical electric car not to mention it has a range of over 200 miles on a nights charges. Heres the kicker though; nicely configuref it runs 100K. So if I had the dough I could be perfectly green, and enjoy it too, until then I will keep doing my best...

US Soccer
Well fresh off their victory in the CONCACAF Gold Cup over Mexico the US is taking a much younger squad to the Copa America. I was pleased to see the US team take our federations cup and honestly while it bothers me that they arent really bringing the top squad to play for the Copa America it is truky a great environment to bring the younger guys up in before next years start to World Cup Qualifying. The game Saturday was awesome though I have to admit I came into the game confiident I was a little worried until Donovan equaled the score.

Chris Benoit
Its been a long time since I followed pro wrestling at all but when I did one of my favorites was Chris Benoit. I was shocked to hear that he was found dead in his home along with his wife and young son in an apparent murder suicide. They havent released all the details but it was a horrible conclusion to a long time stars life.

MMA Weekend
What a crazy life it has become for MMA fans. Now its not uncommon to get two solid shows in a weekend I remember when we were lucky to get 2 every three months. Friday Night Elite XC and Strikeforce put on the Baroni vrs Shamrock Card and while the production value wasnt at the same level of the UFC it was a pretty solid card. Shamrock showed he was a truly skilled fighter though we still have to wonder how skilled he really is since Baroni though entertaining is still not top 10 material at 185. Kung Le had an exciting fight against Tony Fryklund showing a different skill set than we are accustomed to seeing in MMA but no doubt still very exciting. Ninja Rua completed his comeback trek taking out a very tough Joey Villasenor to ecome the Elite XC Middleweight Champ.
Then on Saturday we had the Ultimate Fighter Finale. The night was great. BJ Peen was able to get the submission victory over Jens Pulver in decisive fashion. Pukver interestingly enough is dropping to 145 which meabs a likely switch over to the WEC which gets better week by week. Nate Diaz took the TUF title when Manny Gamburyan dislocated his shoulder going dor a takedown and couldn't continue. Sucks because up to that point Manny had been dominating the fight. Roger Huerta sure looks like the next big star at 155 not because I think he can take the belt but because he has the looks and charisma and sure has developed a following by putting it all on the line when he steps in the ring. I really think guys like him and Matt Wiman are going to bting more ladies into this sport.... It was a great weekend of fights amd now I am really looking forward to July 7th and the Stacked card which has nothing but great matchups on it.

Flipstart - Is that a computer in your pocket or....
I have been a huge fan of the OQO and now it looks like it has some serious pint sized competition. The Flip Start is a cool little palm top computer with all the tiny beels and whistles you could ask for including Windows Vista, 802.11, Bluetooth, and even a built in EVDo connection though apparently only with Sprint.
"FlipStart is a super compact PC with the form factor that's proven to work for mobile professionals. FlipStart has everything you expect from your laptop — familiar applications, effortless Internet connectivity, robust communications, and a host of entertainment options. Its familiar clamshell design is packed with innovative features that deliver unprecedented flexibility and productivity on-the-go.
In addition to Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth® wireless technology on all FlipStart PCs, you can enjoy mobile internet access that doesn't require a wireless hotspot for connectivity with embedded mobile broadband network. Wirelessly connect to the Internet and email fast download speeds with EV-DO Rev A technology. Rev A allows users faster upload and download speeds where Rev A is available."
The Bourne Ultimatum
I was really surprised and thrilled to find out that Matt Damon would be back in The Bourne Ultimatum. I loved the first two movies of the series and cant wait for August to see this.

I have always been a huge fan of the Sidekick mostly because of Danger's wonderful operating system which makes everything mobile also very easy to use. I owned a Sidekick 1 and 2 before TMobiles's horrible coverage forced me to jump ship. Now to add a little excitement to the whole process rumors are abounding that Motorola will be building the next sidekick and giving it the RAZR treatment. Talk about awesome not only will it have the best user interface but also have the best hardware design as well? Sounds like a win win to me. The new sidekick is being called the sidekick slide and is also rumored to have a dedicated myspace appliaction which knowing how sidekicks other apps will work splendidly.

The UFC Fight Night
Wiw thats pretty much all I can say about last nights card. It was pretty much a barn burner throughout. Spencer Fischer avenged his previous loss to Sam Stout taking a very exciting three round decision. John Fitch another of my favorite fighters looked like he had met his match with Roan Carneiro in the first round but apparently he was just finding his opponents rangw and clocked him in the second round which set up an easy win by rear naked choke. Drew Mc Fedries scored a lightning quick knockout over Jordan Radev who was apparently an olympic class wrestler but never got to show it. Thiago Tavares sure looks like the real deal at 155 as he took it to very popular Jason Black in decisive fashion mind you Black's only other losses were to Shinya Aoki and Shonie Carter on route to 21-2-1 record coming into the fight. Tavares who is known for his standup showed he had a hell of a ground game as well finishing Black in the 2nd to stay perfect at 13-0-0. In the other fight on the show Anthony Johnson lit up Chad Reiner for a 13 second ko. Johnson was apparently discomtent he was brought in to lose to Reiner and made it clear in the pre fight intervoew he was going to be nobody's bitch. He certainly backed it up in the ring. The show was great and the UFC definitely seems to be in love with the very deep 155 pound division. They are also keeping themselves busy with the show from Ireland on Saturday, the Ultimate Fighter Finale a week after that, and then two weeks after that the incredible UFC 73 on July 07, 2007.

Tom Tom One
Got me my Tom Tom. Way better than trying to use my phone, I really like the functions quit easy to use and it is pretty easy to set up. They are not cheap but the Tom Tom One is one of the better priced devices out there and has a strong reputation.

Casio Exilim EX-V7SR
I am already a huge fan of the Casio Exilim line of camera. I own an exilim 6mp and 3x optical zoom and my two complaints with it are the optical zoom isnt strong enough for all my phtot needs and the lense gets damaged by opening up in your pocket. Both of these issues seem to be addressed with the EX-V7SR which retails for around $350.00 Dont be durprised if you see me carting one around soon.

Hello my name is Don and I am a
Golfer! (LOL) I have picked up Golfing having bought a set of clubs and playing once a week if you dont count the driving range practice once a week. Up until yesterday I had been playing a small 9 hole course in Monterey Park with a par 4 at the begining and the end and the rest are par 3 holes. Yesterday I played Whittier Narrows and had a blast playing a real course. Today I picked up a new putter today. I have a good learner set of clubs but I realized after using my friends putter that mine was really lacking so I picked up an Odyssey 2 ball. Looking forward to trying it out.

Yahoo adds Messenger to its Mail.
Reall have always loved yahoo mail and while i prefer AIM for my instant messaging I like Yahoo as well and now I can use Yahoo mail for my messenger needs. Really is a nice setup. It runs in a windo and though you have to listen carefully for a new message really it worked pretty well.

Big weekend for MMA
Well this past weekend was huge for MMA with the k-1 spectacle in Los Angeles and WEC putting on its first live tv show on versus and the IFL starting to clarify the playoff picture. First off I watched Dynamite USA on PPV and honestly I wished I could get my money back. The damn thing was 60% spectacle 20% MMA and 20% fear for overmatched opponents. I was surprised By Brock Lesnar who looks like he might have a future in MMA with his great ground and pound. Sure his opponent wasnt great but he was experienced in MMA.
The WEC show was great. Barn burner after barn burner of matches. Finall got to see Uriah Faber fight and man was his match a crazy grappling bout which he ended up winning. I was also excited for the Mark Homminick matchup and even though he fell in his match I look forward to seeing Rani Yahya the ADCC champ who schooled him take on Faber down the road.
The IFL Playoff picture is clearing up some now as the Anacondas and the Sabres have both clinched playoff spots with 3-0 records each. The Pitbulls, Silverbacks, Dragons and Lions remain in contention for the last two playoff spots, with the all but the Silverbacks fighting on the June 16th card. Honestly the Pitbulls appear to be in the drivers seat as they are 2-0 but dont count out the lions upsetting the balance and knocking out the Silverbacks as they face the lowly Scorpions. Looking forward to possibly going to watch the championships in Los Angeles in September.
