Lingo VOIP Service
Well I finally made the jump from Vonage to Lingo. Why you ask? Well originally it was because of technical problems I was having with Vonage which actually might have been due to my cable provider after all. But Lingo does have some features that Vonage doesnt in particular I was able to get a Guatemala phone number for my wifes family to call us on. I know Vonage has similar things but they dont offer as many countries as Lingo and that ended up being the difference.

UFC Ultimate Fight Night
Well it didnt take long for Anderson Silva to show Chris Leben that he was the real deal. Now I know all the TUF bashers will be saying see what happens when the TUF fighters take on a real fighter but hey Anderson Silva looked like he would do the same thing to Rich Franklin. Silva finished Leben in under a minute of the first round with brutal striking, kicking, and knees. It was one of the few stoppages of the night though this was no UFC 33. In the first fight that was televised Mark Homminick won a lackluster decision over Jorge Gurgel. Homminick was defensive and quite honestly pretty boring tonight but got the job done following up his victory over Yves Edwards. Rashad Edwards won a fairly one sided decision, I imagine he might actually finish a fight one day, in another pretty drab fight. Rashad looks to be for real even though he bores me to tears. The show was pretty lackluster except for the Silva fight. I imagine they will probably give Silva a shot at Franklin and I'm guessing Homminick might get Jens Pulver or even a shot at the lightweight title.

Sidekick 3
sidekick3 (14k image)

One of the things I dislike about being a cingular customer is that I dont have access to the infamous Sidekick. Especiall now that the sidekick 3 has come out and despit some very similar features to the sidekick 2 except the 3 has a better camera, mini sd card, mp3 player and bluetooth. I had the original sidekick and a sidekick 2 but couldnt deal with the crappy coverage I was getting with T Mobile. The phones however were great with a strong email, im, and web features and the web interface though sometimes flaky was pretty cool.

Bikke
bikke (26k image)

Wow this thing is pretty cool. The Bikke is an electric powered bike that can cruise up to 11 miles per hour and holds it's charge for close to an hour. The thing uses cell phone like batteries that are built into the frame and total weight is just 18 pounds. The drivetrain is mostly hidden so it doesn't look ghastly either. The bike sales for around $400 and looks like it would be great for hopping between busses and trains.

World Cup 2006
Now that the group play is over, explains a lack of posting and poor timeliness to work to boot the world cup gets really serious. I was really bummed that the US didnt qualify for the elimination round after dropping two of their games. I had huge issues with the way the Italy and Ghana games were called but no point in whining about it now. The first two games of the round of 16 were enough to pick up my spirits though. Germany played an awesome game against Sweden sending them home in the first twelve minutes of the game with two goals by Podolski. Argentina and Mexico was another great match, unless of course you're Mexican as Argentina was able to sneak away with the win on a beautiful goal by Maxi Rodriguez in the first overtime. Mexico started the game off with a quick goal but was drawn even on an own goal by Borghetti. What a depressing way to get put out but hey it happens. Tomorrow we have England taking on Ecuador and Portugal taking on Netherlands. Should be an exciting matchup.

Endless Pool huh? How bout a Flowrider?
Hey remember when I was all pumped up about the endless pool? Well this is even better. If I ever win the lotto I am putting one of these flowriders in the backyard. Basically ir's a wave machine and it works by shooting a thin sheet of water over a slick surface that is uphill creating the wave action. Heck if I hit the lotto I'll just get one of these and an endless pool.

Ultimate Fighter 3
Well we finally have our four finalists. Joinging Kendall in the finals was everyones pick from the begining Ed Herman from Team Quest. In the light heavy semi's Josh was able to get past Jesse and Michael Bisping everyones pick to take it all was able to get past Ross who definitely made it an interesting fight. Not to be outshone despite his teams poor performance Ken starts some shit with Tito but this time Tito doesnt back down. Ken is dilusional and talks about how his fight made Tito and I hate to remind Ken that Tito was top dog in the UFC when they fought and Ken was a has been making a comeback just like he is now. I look at the two guys and the job they did and Tito just blew Ken out of the water with his ability to train and mold fighter whereas Ken was all about himself. I honestly think Tito has redeemed himself for his holdout and I look forward to him knocking the snot out of Ken. The TUF3 finals are on June 24, The Ultimate Fight Night Live is June 28th, and then Ken takes on Tito on July 8th. I am really looking forward to Anderson Silva takes on Chris Leben in what should be a true stand up and throw type of matchup on the Ultimate Fight Night. Im guessing if Silva gets past Leben he will get a shot at Franklin. Its gonna be a plethora of MMA over the next few weeks and I couldn't be more pleased.

Eepybird - Kings of Diet Coke and Mentos
Who would have thought that diet coke and mentos would be so much fun. I was checking out the eepybird.com website and besides the now rather famous diet coke and mentos fountain they have tons of other experiments and tricks to fountains. The site is really well put togetehr and pretty entertaining.

International Fight League
Well I finally got to take a look at the IFL on FSN this weekend and I have to admit I am more impressed than I thought I would be. Let me start by saying that I am not a big fan of the whole team concept but really dont have anything against them trying it. The first show I watched was Renzo Gracies team against Maurice Smith. The fights were solid, the presentation was comprable to HBO Boxing, and surprisingly I liked the ring versus the cage. The first show the team format actually made the show better as it wasn't until the heavyweights met that the competition was decided. Now in the finals it was a whole different story. Pat Millitech's team had won the contest by the end of the third fight, middleweights, so it almost seemed to cheapen the light heavyweight and heavyweight bouts since they were worth nothing but individual pride. I hope that as the league developes they find a way to reward fighters who fight well but might be stuck on losing teams much like a collegiate wrestler whose team might never win a dual meet but the guy can still win the national championship if he performs well. Hopefully they will work that into the process down the line as the league expands. While I am on that topic the league has just announced the addition of four new coaches and three of them are great Matt Lindland, Mark Coleman, and Carlos Newton are are all very well respected mixed martial artists. Then they throw in Antonio Inoki who while I am sure is a great draw to Japanese fans concerns me because he is a well known professional wrestler and I always prefer a clear line between the fake sports and the real ones and I am worried that this will blur that line for some people. Anyways enough venting its one to the next season though honestly I have no idea when that will happen I look forward to the expansion to 16 teams and seeing what kind of impact that has on the whole season.

Treo 700
Well I have been playing with my Treo 700 for almost a week now and I am really impressed with it. Unfortunately I am going to have to trade it in for a Q since I end up saving work some money by doing so. Hopefully the Q functions as well though I have a feeling that the lack of the touchscreen will be an issue for me the difference in price warrants the jump. The Treo sets a corporate user back, after a deal mind you $350.00 and I can pick up the Q for $200.00. I should get the Q tomorrow so I will let you know what I think then!

Volswagen Jetta TDI
Now Im definitely not your run of the mill tree hugger but I do believe that we should be trying to protect the environement as much as we can. I really like the concept of bio-diesel since it seems like it is such a viable form of fuel already. The Volswagen Jetta TDI just points me further along the road. The reviews on the TDI are pretty amazing since they pretty much are all really positive saying the car has none of the fallbacks of what we all imagine in a diesel.

Nike+ Ipod
Wow this looks really cool but I dont have the best grasp on what all it can do. Essentially you need an ipod nano, nike+shoes, and nike+ipod sport kit. Essentiall it keeps track of your workout and you can sync the data back to your computer to keep track of you running workouts. Basically Nike will be releasing new shoes and apparel on this line and Im guessing it will do well as everything else associated with the old iPod has especially since it has Nike's flair.

Well I finally got see my I.F.L. production on Fox Sports Net today. I was really impressed with the production which was top notch much like an HBO boxing telecast. The fights were exciting despite the lack of name fighters except for Dennis Hallman who I recognised. While Im still not sold on the old team concept I really think the IFL has a lot of potential to succeed. The quality of their show would draw in a casual observer who was channel surfing. Last week they announced the addition of four more coaches; Matt Lindland, Carlos Newton, Antonio Inoki, and Mark Coleman. I can't help but wonder why Inoki but he muct be a huge draw for Japanese fans which would only be a good thing. With the existing four teams of Bas Ruten, Renzo Gracie, Pat Militech, and Maurice Smith it defintiely appears that the star power will be with the coaches and not the fighters. I'm really actually pretty excited for this league. The ring was a nice change from the octagon and like I said the production was great. There was plenty of action in the hour I had to watch and I really enjoyed the whole set up.

Treo 700 or Motorola Q
Well I just got my new Treo 700 yesterday and damnit if they dont release the Q right after. Now I am debating returning the Treo and getting the Q but I am kind of hung about the lack of a touch screen on the Q. I like the Treo but its not really rock solid either and I can save the company a chunk of change like $100 if I make the switch. You have to love the form factor and of course I am fast becoming a fan of Windows Mobile. Hopefully I can get a slingbox this year so I can watch TV away from home on it and get the term server at work set up so I can connect remotely. Decisions Decisions Decisions.... This link on Gizmodo didnt make things any easier.
