Cant they see it's different?
Well the NBA has gotten their dream matchup as Boston will be hosting Los Angeles in the NBA finals. I understand that this is a storied rivalry, I grew up in it. But that was Bird vs. Johnson and while sure we have the two best teams and I am excited to see them meet up its not the same kind of feeling, not yet at least but I am glad our old archnemesis is back. Hell I'm glad we are back!

Affliction Banned
The more I consider the card the more I cant help but be excited for this PPV coming up on July 19th. The card includes Fedor/Tim Sylvia, Ben Rothwell, Pedro Rizzo/Josh Barnett, Mike Whitehead/ Renato Sobral, Matt Lindland/Fabio Nogao. Solid including some viable #1 in the world fighters with Lindland and Fedor there. Apparently the promotion is a partnership of Affliction Clothing and Golden Boy Promotions and the show will be held in the Honda Center (formerly Arrowhead Pond). Curious to see who Ben Rothwell gets to fight as I'd like to see him take on some quality opponent and I heard Aleks Fedor's brother would be on the card as well.

LG Vu
LG_Vu (21k image)
Well I stopped by AT&T tonight to get the new jawbone and I was taken aback by a new touchscreen on display. No it wasn't the iPhone though I understand people are already in line in New York for the next big thing... No this was a LG Vu and after being fully unimpressed with the LG Voyager which seems like an env witha touch screen as an afterthought. The Vu on the other hand works really well and has some interesting features. The mobitv is amazing! The picture quality is great. The phone also has a nice feature in that everytime you press a command on the touchscreen it kind of vibrates to give you some feedback. The phone seems packed with features the phone feels good in the hand and is pretty thin and AT&T offers unllimited internet for $30.00 a month. I am really hoping that AT&T will offer the same MobiTV on the 3G iPhone. If you want a solid phone that isn't made by the holy fruit I suggest checking this phone out.

A Great Day for Sports
I stayed home sick yesterday but really worked from home but I got to watch Manchester United defeat Chelsea in the European Champions League Cup in what turned out to be a great game. It was the first time I had watched the two standards of the English Premier Legaue play and it was a great game. Then after practice yesterday I watched the last part of the Lakers game against the Spurs which from what I understand was definitely the better partas a Laker fan. Then I took in the last few innings of the Dodgers game as they completed their sweep of the Reds.

My stimulus check and the Tmobile Sidekick ID
sidekick-id-t-mobile (114k image)

Well I finally got my stimulus check and I used it to get both my kids what apparently were the last two Sidekick ID's in Southern California. The girls are thrilled with the phone which doesn't seem that different from the sidekick 2 I owned years ago but hey. The wife got in on the new phone actionas well getting a new Heather Grape Motorola W490. Who makes up the names for these supposed colors anyways? Whats wrong with calling it dark purple. It was nice as she has always felt a little left out getting my hand me down phones though honestly she has always had better phones that way but hey shes happy. I really was pleasantly surprised by the Tmobile Shadow and what a nice form factor it had but dont worry kids I doubt I will ever give up on my iPhone and consequently AT&T. We got an air conditioner and an easy up shade which both should come in very handy this summer. The AC is a 9000 BTU portable model which really isn't that portable since you have to have a snug vent out a window. The easy up will prove its worth at the softball tournaments we still have to go this summer.

All about me
Well I officially began Softball 2.0 yesterday as I had my first practice as All Star manager yesterday. The kids seem great and I'm looking forward to a fun tournament season. I've been spending what lttle free time I have following the NBA playoffs especially since the Lakers are still in it. Im not as sure as some that they will make it all the way but if the home team dominance continues it will fair well for the Lakers. I still cant help but daydream as to how things would be if Bynum were back though. The Dodgers are my other favorite distraction these days though they haven't been much fun to watch though they finally stopped there 6 game skid last night which is a positive. Maybe I have my fan blinders on but they look like a solid team if everyone is healthy. Work has been a little overwhelming at times but I think I am making headway on most of my big issues and all the guys are progressing nicely in their various jobs. Being the director was always my dream but it's not as easy as I once imagined it. Life has been pretty much full speed ahead this year and while my golf game will surely suffer things have been going nicely.

A new distraction from the 3G iPhone, the Jawbone 2
Jawbone2Jawbone1 (93k image)

Well something had to break me from my untiring following of iPhone rumors, and it turns out that my favorite non iPhone headset has received quite an upgrade in the form of the Jawbone 2. It employys a much smaller form factor as you can see in the picture above, a simpler ear hook system with leather covered loop now. and a simpler and from engadgets review more comfortable ear bud. Inside though it is the same great headset.

Dodger Blues
Wen to two games this week. Wednesday because it was a weekday game and I have wanted to go to a weekday game forever. I had a blast and so did the Mets who responded to the Dodger previous two wins by hammering them 12-1. It was a depressing game but I enjoyed imitating Ferris Buellers day off. Then on Friday I took the girls and a friend from the doftball team because it was beanie night and there were some very inexpensive seats for $6. I can now officially get DOdgered out for the games as I got an Authentic Game Performance 59FIFTY On-Field Cap and an Authentic Cool Base Gamer Jacket so I can show off my pride. A really cool dude gave my daughter one of the balls the outfielders throw in the stands though I am yet to negotiate a price for it from her.

Finally put my wheels on!
mycar (900k image)

Finally got around to putting the wheel from my scion onto the Yaris lloks pretty sharp in my humble opinion. Saw another Yaris sporting 18's a while back and they looked great so I figured I'd give mine a shot.

4GB internal flash
microSD slot
528MHz CPU
3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus

AT&T WiFi free for iPhone Users
In another one of those good for me stories turns out AT&T who now has the WiFi at Starbucks and Barnes & Noble locations is giving it to iPhone users for free. In a twisted way it makes sense because it is probable a lot more economical for me to be surfing the WiFi wave than using Edge. Maybe I will start eating my nreakfast in at Starbucks now.
