AT&T to subsidize new 3G iPhone?
Well it appears the news surrounding the new 3G iphone keeps getting better and if the rumors hold true they should sell boatloads of these. First the 3G was pretty much a given. Then the on board GPS started making the rounds. I dont know why but I am a bit suspicious of this one but who knows I would love to have it. Finally now the running rumor is that AT&T is going to subsidize the iPhone $200, like it does for every other phone in it's lineup. If that is so then the 8gb would go for around $199 and 16gb for $399 which is a very competitive pricepoint for these phones.

Dodger Stadium Upgrades
Well as I was browsing to see who won last nights extra inning affair I saw on Dodgers.com that there are some pretty cool plans in store for Chavez ravine, and they don't include demolishing the stadium which is actually nice for a change seeing as how it is now the third oldest stadium behind Fenway and Wrigley. Basically it sounds like they are going to put in four monster garages and then use the space cleared from the parking lot to build around the existing stadium with the main entrance entering behind center field with all the extra space not used by the stadium being landscaped parkland. Sounds cool to me!

AT&T Uverse
I am guessing but in what seems to be a response to Verizon Fios, and more directly cable providers who are aggressively trying to get in the phone business AT&T has announced a new Uverse service. Basically they provide the service over I/P over fiber to the premises (your house) or fiber to the node (your central station) which allows for much better bandwidth. The television packages are similar to cable and satelite options. The internet speeds have several options up to 10 mbs down and 1.5 mbs up. They also provide VoIP phone service in some areas. They are said to be offering a network based DVR service so you can record shows from any TV. Sounds like things are looking up for us AT&T

UFC 83
As you know I have been watching the UFC for quite some time now. As a matter of fact this is my 50th and honestly despite what figured to be a great main event I wasnt super enthusiastic about this card. That said GSP vrs Serra went pretty much the way everyone figured it would but GSP thoight a much differeny fight than everyone thought he would. GSP showed his exceptional wrestling skill choosing to deal Serra;s dangerous ground game than his looping strikes. GSP's GnP was too much for Serra abd he took a second round TKO. The Rich Franklin / Travis Luter was a mistake from when it was made. Luter didn't deserve a co main event. The guy blew his shot at a world championship and really I think should have been 86'ed after that fight. All he did was put doubts in my head as to how good Rich Franklin is with a dominating fight Franklin took when Luter gassed horribly in the second. Nate Quarry vrs Kalib Starnes I thought was going to be interesting but Quarry chased Starnes around the ring endlessly. It was so bad Starnes has since been discharged volunterily or not from the UFC. Michael Bisping looked like a new man at 185 and I hope he has a future there, I would have been happier if he'd been fighting Franklin. Bisping did considerable damage to Charles McCarthy in the first round and McCarthy was unable to answer the bell for the second round. Mac Danzig the TUF 6 winner took a win over very tough Marck Bocek by rear naked choke. In a couple of fights I would have liked to have seen Jason McDonald knocked out Joe Doerkson after about a minute into the second round. This was rematch of a fight McDonald took the first time around. Damain Maia got a submission victory over Ed Herman with a triangle choke from the top as he rained punches down on his opponent. All in all it wasnt a great card but as always I enjoy the fights. Looking forward to the next one a lot.

Naked Case for the Apple iPhone
Like what you see? Check it out at www.case-mate.com It is piced at $34.99!
Now I know that I am a horrible Nike addict. I admit it. But honestly when I got my staff bag I never thought about what a pain it would be to carry around when I walk the courses I do. I regret not getting the bag you see above. Its a very light high quality stand or cart bag. It has 14 dividers which would make my clubs easier to deal with. Basically I've figured out my staff bag is great as long as you have a caddy who has to carry it and manage your clubs for you. Im going to see if my pro shop wont work out a deal for me. Argghh!

Lets Go Lakers
Well the Lakers sealed the deal last night in a rather impressive finish to the season. They take out the Hornets, Spurs, and Kings 1.2.3 to win the western conference. What more could you ask for? The only suspense left for me in the regular season is am I going to win my fantasy league and who do the Lakers play in the first round. In other local sports it looks to be another slow start for the Galaxy who despite having a big name roster are 1-2 with their victory coming at an expansion teams expense. The Dodgers dont seem much more motivated than the Galaxy at 6-8 it seems like you never know which team is going to show up on a given night. Oh well still got the Lakers again!

Damn it is hot!
Well it was a fine weekend. We had a softball game Saturday where we got beat soundly by a Long Beach team that was a lot more experienced than our team was. Watched as Tiger looked quite human at the Masters this weekend. Isn't it a shame that a second place finish is a disappointment for him. Worked with Marianna on her pitching most of Sunday and she is really enthusiastic about it. I think she has some potential but I wonder how she will deal with the nerves of pitching in a game. Watched the Lakers take their second important win this weekend beating the Spurs after having taken the Hornets on Friday. Its a great time to be a Lakers fan. Now all they have to do is get past Sacramento and they will officially have done all they could to get the top seed in the Western Conference. Finally got to see the movie "Into The Wild" today. I had been anxiously awaiting for it to come out on DVD so I could catch it on DirecTV. I had read the book and am a fan of Eddie Vedder's soundtrack so I was anxious to catch the film. It was really good. I enjoyed how the included not only Chris' thoughts but also those of his sister. It gave a new perspective to what went on which I enjoyed. If you haven't seen I recommend it highly.

Well it wasnt exactly a day off nor was it Ferris but I had a pretty cool day yesterday. Went golfing in the afternoon and while I didnt have a great round I did get my first birdie and generally hit the ball pretty well for me. The in the evening I took my older daughter to the Dodgers game which was a blast as well.

Kobe jumping for joy with new shoe contract with Nike
3G iPhone is coming but when
Well it appears the answer is soon. Well with the new version of iPhone software due out in the end of June and with the WWDC conference scheduled for that time? Hmm 1+1+1 = June 9th. Hey Walt Mossberg said we have less than 60 days and if there is anything Walt knows its Apple, and well just because he serves heaps of praise on the company for just about everything they do wouldn't mean he might be up to sending out a little false information would it? I know engadget is guessing the end of the month because that is when Version 2.0 of the software with the newly added apps is coming out. Might not be a bad guess. Apple or Mac Daddy Steve Jobs could announce the realease at WWDC and then have a couple of weeks to iron it out but Jobs doesn't tend to announce things before there ready on the Apple store so maybe they will release the phone before the new software comes out. Either way I am going to get me a new iPhone if I can. 3G and a 16gb capacity sounds good to me I just wonder what else they might add to the lil bugger to sweeten the deal and how much it will cost?

Sports Sports Sports
I am not certain why but I have redeveloped my love for sports much like I had as a youngster. I' ve been a fairly relaxed fan for the past few years but the passion I once felt is back. Years past I would hardly watch a regular season basketball game but this year has felt like the playoffs almost all year long as the Lakers are better and have been in the thick of things from day 1. Partly because I was home sick I saw a great majority of the NCAA mens tournament get played. But the clincher has been and what brings me some concern is that I have been following the Dodgers this year. Now I have to admit I watched the Angels runs through the playoffs but was never bothered with regular season games. As a kid I watched every sporting event I could. I figured I stopped watching because of saturation in that now you can see too many games whereas before you had a Saturday baseball game, Football on Sunday and could catch your local teams away games. Now I have the Lakers, Dodgers, and Galaxiy's schedule on my phone.

Nike SQ Sumo Irons
I have been playing with my Nike Irons for several rounds at the range an played half a round yetserday with them and I have to say that I am very impressed. Mind you I am a very new golfer and most fellow golfers are offended at my all Nike setup but so far as a game improvement set I can tell you for sure my clubs have definitely improved my game. No difference with the irons as I am having the same experience with them as I did when I bought my woods, as when I bought my hybrids, as wehn I bought my putter. Marked improvement after practicing with the for just a short while.
