Ultimate Fighter Finale
Well after I made my last post I decided to check out the ultimate fighter website and to my surprise there were a lot more fights on the card than just the three, two finals plus Shamrock vr.s Franklin. Almost all of the guys from the show will face off that night if not all of them. Theres Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Sanford, Chris Leben vs. Jason Thacker, Lodune Sincaid vs. Nate Quarry, and Alex Karalexis vs. Josh Rafferty. They also state there may be more fights announced later which guessing from the lack of the Light Heavyweights they are gonna wait til after next weeks show to announce those matchups. Though upon further review it looks like they are only gonna have eight matches which means some of the guys wont be fighting the night of the live show. Of interest is that Lodune Sincaid and Jason Thacker dropped down to middleweight after having been Light Heavyweights on the show. Makes you wonder did they go up in weight to fill out the spots. I noticed that Mike Swick used to fight at 185 as well, his last fight was a loss to Chris Leben as a matter of fact. As regular UFC watchers know the non televised matches can quickly become televised matches if the televised matches end quickly. Looking forward to the show and seeing how they fill out the card.

Ultimate Fighter
Well I definitely was glad I tivoed this weeks episode sinc I didn't make it home Monday night til long after it was over. This week was the second half of the Middleweight semifinals. The show started with the reactions from last weeks fights where Chris Leben lost to Kenny Florian. But that was last week. This week it was Diego and Josh facing off to fill the last spot in the Middleweight final. As an aside they showed Dana White making the final arrangements for the weigh in at the Hard Rock Hotel where the fighters will be staying as well including Rich Franklin and Ken Shamrosk who will also be facing off the night of the finals on the live show. After the standard last day of training and weigh in coverage was the fight. At first both Diego and Josh tried to stand up since they were both concerned about the others ground game. Josh who has an awesome wrestling game had some impressive takedowns but didn't seem quit sure what to do once he got Diego down. Diego on the other hand seemed to be working for submissions all the time. The final decision was split with Diego getting the nod and the chance at Kenny in the finals. Josh however looks like he has a huge future with some more training. Maybe some time with old team Quest would do him well though I think Chris Leben is signed on with them and cant imagine both of them in the same camp. Next week we get to see both Light Heavyweight semi-finals and Saturday the 9th is the live show which looks like it will be awesome.

H2O Audio
H2O_mini_side (30k image)
One of the greatest advantages that Apple has with its Ipod lines is that even though there are comparable devices none has the list of accessories that the Ipod has. One of those accessories is H2Oaudio which has a line of accesories that allow you to use you ipod under water. I particularly like the ipod mini waterproof case and headphones so you can use the ipod while you are swimming laps. They also sell a pouch that is wrapped around you and holds your ipod securely on your back.

Halo 2 Map Pack
Well between runs in Project Gotham Racing I have also been playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live and was just the other day muttering to myself under my breath about the fact that there had been no new maps released yet. Well xbox announced that that they are going to be releasing a map pack, the first of its kind for console gaming. The map pack will have nine new maps. The retail price is going to be 19.99 for those who buy them in stores with a couple of bonus videos.

As a special bonus, Xbox Live subscribers will get an early chance to check out four maps from the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack in late April. Two maps, Containment and Warlock, will be presented by Mountain Dew at no cost to Xbox Live subscribers. Two additional maps, Sanctuary and Turf, will be available for purchase via Xbox Live for $5.99 (U.S.). To complete the Map Pack collection, subscribers can download the five remaining maps on June 28 for $11.99 (U.S.).

So we get to save a whopping 1.99 and dont get the videos but we get them first on xbox live. But wait if I buy it in store:

The retail package also features two new videos: an animated short from the single-player story in New Mombasa and a mini-documentary that includes interviews with the map designers, combat strategies, and fly-throughs of the new maps. The retail pack also allows gamers who prefer offline play via System Link and split-screen to upgrade their Halo 2 experience with new maps. The retail version of the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack carries a suggested retail price of $19.99 (U.S.).

Finally there is an awesome article on Bungie.net that explains what is going on with this huge announcement. Not to mention its an easier read than the MS press release.

Teri Schiavo
Well with Easter upon us Im taking a path I dont often do in my weblog. Normally I write about things I enjoy and not Political/Religious/Family issues. However since it is Easter and since I am Catholic I figured I would touch on the subject since it has been on my mind a lot lately. As a Christian I support the right to life. But I am also aware that we have been taught that we have a right to die a dignified death with no extra special lifesaving measures to prolong life. Teri's case is a special one. Sure she would continue living if she had the basic sustenance that her G tube can provide her. How dare we keep her from eating and drinking. How cruel can there world be? Well if we go back to what I have been taught isnt the gtube beyond whats normal. Lets look in theory that the gtube had not been invented. Teri would have died of quite natural causes nearly 15 years ago. Sure it must be rough to deny Teri food and part of me says why not continue to give her care. But in the logical part of my mind I know it goes against what I have been taught. Everyone seems so focused on Teri's right to life but what about her right to a dignified death? I unklike many people on this issue think that both sides are morally right in this issue. I am convinced that Teri's husband is sure he is doing the right thing and what Teri would want. He has sacrificed too much to continue this fight. This isnt about money or anything else for him its about honoring what he believes Teri's wishes would be. Religiously we say its wrong for Teri to die but wasnt it also technically wrong for Jesus to have to die? Some things need to take place. We are way beyond the natural circumstances here and while deep down I understand the Schindlers dilemna I believe parents make decisions out of love that aren't always right. I honestly believe it is Teri's time to go and I think it was important that it happen during this time of year because it has awoken some valid thological and political discussion that otherwise would have been washed aside. Teri I am sure your headed for a much better place where you wont have to be attached to any tubes to get by. There your voice will be clear and no one will wonder what you want because you will have it all.

Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells
I imagine you have seen the Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells advertised lately on television. The concept is pretty cool. Basically you get a full set of dumbells in one individual pair. The concept is not unique but I think it may be better. powerblock has been around for quite some time now and essentially does the same thing. The difference is that selecteck lets you use a dial and its being marketed by bowflex.

Real Pro Wrestling
I was checking out Sherdog.com when I saw that they had a tv schedule for Real Pro Wrestling. Basically its amateur style wreslting on a professional level. There are several teams including the New York Outrage, Oklahoma Slam, Iowa Stalkers, Texas Shooters, Minnesota Freeze, Chicago Groove, Pennsylvania Hammer, and the California Claw. Eight Teams doesnt sound to shabby and its a hybrid freestyle wrestling with greco thrown in during bonus periods. Basically they are tring to make the sport a lil more interesting to the casual viewer by keeping both wrestlers active. The points system is weighted towards more exciting throws getting bigger points. The stadium/set is really cool looking and should add to teh event a lot. Im going to watch at 1:00 today on PAX and see how it turns out. Let you know what I think.

Sin City Movie
Wow! I had never heard of Sin City until today when I saw the half hour promo on Spike TV for the Making of Sin City. This looks awesome! The cast has Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Benicio Del Torro, Clive Owen, Mick Rourke, Brittney Murphy, Michael Clark Duncan, and Elijah Wood. Like the stars weren't enough they also have Robert Rodriguez, Quinton Terrantino, and Frank Miller himself co directing. This thing look awesome and comes out on April 1st!

UFC 52
Well I have been so jazzed with Ultimate Fighter that I hadn't even bothered to check the complete card for UFC 52 which comes a week after the Ultimate Fighter Finale. Besides the Coulture - Liddell matchup for the Light Heavyweight title there is anoth rematch for the title when Frank Trigg faces off against Matt Hughes for the welterweight belt.In another welterweight matchup which probably has future title implications George St Pierre faces off against Jason Miller. In a middleweight bought Patrick Cote whose only loss is at 205 against none other than Tito Ortiz will face off with the man who wants to face none other than Tito Ortiz the notoripus Lee Murray. In a heavyweight matchup Mike Van Arsdale faces John Marsh and I know little about either of them though they both seem to be making comebacks. Matt Linland returns in middleweight action to face Travis Lutter which is probably a tune up for a matchup against Evan Tanner. In another middleweight bout Ivan Salaverry faces Joe Riggs who I think will climb the ranks to be champ as he is the biggest middleweight I have ever seen. In the last matchup Travis Wiuff will face off against Ronato Sobral in a lightheavyweight bout. The card looks to be a really strong one especially the two strong title fights. Look forward to watching it!

Ultimate Fighter
Well the Ultimate Fighter episode was awesome this week as the show wraps up its final four in both weight classes. First there was controversy as Dana decided that fighters would face off against their teammates so it was a guranteed Liddell vrs Couture final in both weightclasses. This week it was the first of the middleweight semifinals as Chris Leben faced off with Kenny Florian. In another twist and there always seems to be one Bobby Southworth was brought back as a potential emergency replacement for Forrest. In the fight I completely expected Leben to knock Kenny out since he was the heavyhitter and much bigger than Kenny but Kenny surprised everyone by stopping the fight in the second round by opening a huge cut on Chris' eyebrow with an elbow. It was a great fight and I was impressed but now I have to wonder if Kenny will be able to weather the winner Josh or Diego who face off next week. Things are getting interesting though.

Well it was anoth ho hum weekend. Saturday I went to an Ultreya in Gardena which was fun. We worked on getting my new apartment ready this morning for some work to be done tomorrow. Hopefully we will get moved into the place by the end of this month. Went to a really good mass today where they reenacted the passion of Christ. Spent some time with Zenaida, Leslie and Chepito and ate Pollo Campero from the new Long Beach branch tonight which is nice because it's close to home. And topped of the night by playing Halo online with Diego. Tomoorow its back to the grind!

Careful how you type those email addresses!
A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their
honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew
to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel.

There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her e-mail address and, without realizing his error, sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a
heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail expecting messages from relatives and friends.

After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Arrived
Date:October 16, 2004

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send e-mails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was. P. S. Sure is freaking hot down here!

Lakers Bobbleheads from Carls Jr.
Well Carl's Jr. is having their Laker bobblehead promotion again with a whole new cast. I picked up the first one Lamar Odom. They are 4.99 each with a combo package. The rest of the bobbleheads are Chris Mihm, Caron Butler, Luke Walton, and finally Kobe Bryant. I remember being pissed last year that the set didn't have Shaq or Kobe since they were the two marquee players and due to endorsement issues Carl's couldn't use either one of them but this year due to the rape fiasco Kobe doesn't have the endorsements and has a bobblehead.

Justin on KROQ this morning
Well I just got done listening to the Mandy Amano interview. In a clash of two of my favorite entertainment mediums they also interviewed Justin who I recently blogged about myself. Justin Sounded like he was scared to death and if you read some of the comments on his website he went in expecting the worst portrayal but it actually wasn't that bad. For a guy who pretty much blogs about everyday things he has done really well. He also seems to have a nack for picking up whats hot ahead of schedule and blogging about it thus getting tons of exposure for his sites.

Ultimate Fighter
Well Ultimate fighter was awesome tonight. Sam turns out to be a thief or at least the guys a railing him up like he's one. The dude doesn't make his life any easier either. The new and improved Chris Version 2.0 is really pretty nice guy who doesnt add much excitement to the show but Sam has become the reality whore causing all the drama in the house. The fight between Forrest and Alex was awesome and Alex gave Forrest a run and though he walked out the loser he held his head up high. The show was great all around.

In fact when I first started using the Jordan products it was because I wanted to try out the hair gel not because it was from Jordan. In fact it took me seeing it several times and reading the labels before I decided to give the gel a try even. Guess what its pretty good stuff. Then I gave the all in one sham, poo a shot and the shaving gel and now Im hooked. The products are really high quality and I reccomend them to anyone looking for a good line of products.

Well I finally got round to watching AVP on DirecTV today and it was actually better than I thought it would be. For those who criticised it Im not sure what they were expecting as it is your run of the mill we ran out of sequels so we will combinme two franchises to make more money flick. I enjoyed it and found it to be as good as your average run of the mill horror flick. Plus I have always been partial to Predator flicks and since they seem to win out in the end it left a favorable impression.

The Ultimate Fighter
Well as you know I'm a MMA junkie and have been almost religiously watching Ultimate Fighter on Spike network. Now a couple of weeks back Chris Leben who is the primary personality on the show lost in a fight and consequently was booted off the show. Many of us wondered how Spike and the UFS were going to deal with the personailty vaccuum. Well first they tried to focus on the bitterness on Team Liddell with Sam Hoger who actually likes the other team better than his own. Well that doesnt go over well and with the potential of losing Nate Quarry they really dont have anyone interesting to watch. Well the MRI results are done on Nate and bad news for UFC he's eliminated. But the UFC pulled a rabbit out of its hat saying he could bring back any one eliminated fighter. So guess who is back? Chris Leben, personality drought taken care of, now back to the show.

King of the Cage - Payback
Well I lost my King of the Cage virginity tonight as I bought the Payback Pay per View on a whim. There were some really good fights especially Jorge Gurgel and Jason Ireland who knocked each other senseless before Gurgel who looked to be in better condition than his opponent when he still had legs in the last round and ended up finishing the fight via rear naked choke. Another impressive fight was Thiago Alves' 15 second KO of Jeff Cox. Alves looks to be a tough lil dude but it seems at the KOTC level of combat that many of the fights are one sided. I dont want to knock KOTC because I know they are trying to come up and become the next big promotion and it seems they are pretty solid number 2, at least on the west coast, but the pay per view quality was crap. I was gonna argue that they shouldn't charge $30 for the pay per view but since they got me to pay for it maybe they should! All in all it definitely wasnt UFC quality and I will really do my homework before buying another one.

Ipod Shuttle
Well I know I had mentioned the Ipod Shuttle several months ago when they were first announced. I finally picked one up and it really is a nice device. Basically it is a 512mb usb memory stick with the famous ipod control in smaller scale on the front. Speaking of smaller scale Ipod reuires you to input a 14 number serial number which os on the ipod and takes up half the damn sticks width making just this side of impossible to read. Finally after squinting at the number/letters I was able to fashion an approximate guess which it accepted so I ran with it. The sound quality is good to my ear and it recharges itself via the usb port. The only thing I haven't tested is how long the battery actually lasts from a charge.

Colored Wristbands
Well have become a whore for promoting causes as I now have a total of four colored wristbands now even though I only wear three because four was way over the top. I now have my original Livestrong yellow band which started the trend. Then I got a red band for donating blood in January which I really enjoy as it is another worth cause. Then last month when I heard they had a green band for sale at 7-eleven for supporting the troops I stopped by the local store which was sold out of them but had blue Tsunami relief bands. Later as friend from work picked up the band for supporting the troops to top off the collection. Wearing all four was a bit much though so I keep the blue one on the rear view mirror of my xB.

Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams
I bought the new Jack Johnson cd today and it is awesome. I was a lil concerned that I might get tired of Captain Jack but there was enough variety between his first album Brushfire Fairtales and his second album On and On. I really ended up liking On and On more than Brushfire even though Brushfire was awesome as well. Well I think I might have a new favorite. In Between Dreams is Jack doing stuff a lil more funky and has a lot more electric than I recall on the previous two albums. Mind you I'm only through the first six tracks but so far its awesome. I have enjoyed every song so far and imagine I'll like the rest.
