Got a call Wednesday morning from one of my er clerks who told me JCAHO was on site. mind you a month earlier than we were guesstimating they would arrive. The new process is actually really interesting as they showed up and off they went to the races. Essntially what they do is start tracing patients who they follow from point a to z. Si if they are looking at a patient and see something in the lab they go to the lab. As you can imagine that can lead them anywhere. One thing I like about the focus of the newer surveys is that you really focus on what the hospital is doing and not so much on historical documents like the old survey did. I think its actually a lot better process that really looks at what a Hospital does. Now mind you I dont have any tattoos nor do I ever paln on getting any. My Dad made me swear I never would so hey I can find other means of expressing myself. The storys and emotions behind people getting tattoos are amazing though and I find the show captivating plus it doesnt hurt that most of the females gettong tattoos are real nice to look at. posted @ 12:06 AM PST [link] [Karma: 1 (+/-)] Ipod Radio Remote  Well I broke down and bought me another toy for the old iPod. The new radio remote is pretty cool. I had to upgrade my iPod up to version 1.1 first before it would work. Then everything was automatic. The radio shows up on the music menu and you can easily browse through the channels and it has the station info automatically. Of course KROQ doesn't seem to have any digital info but hey I can live without it. The cord for the remote is really long though with all the yanking out of the cord I have been doing on the treadmill it might actually be a welcome change. posted @ 12:03 AM PST [link] [Karma: -7 (+/-)] Monday, February 13, 2006A Family AdventureTook the family on an adventure yesterday to Hollywood. Mind you we live about a 40 minute drive from Hollywood but took the Metro instead. Now I love the train but it really did seem a bad way to go. Even Hoolywood for that matter wasnt that exciting to the kids and wifeas it doesnt live up to your imagination. Oh well I managed to get out with the fsmily and thats akways good. posted @ 07:02 AM PST [link] [Karma: 4 (+/-)] Sunday, February 12, 2006State of the UFCWell the UFC put on a good show last weekend and though normally I post the next day after a ppv I wanted to let Randy Couture's retirement settle in before I did plud work has just been crazy. So really for the UFC thaings went as well as expected I really believe if Randy had won it would have thrown things into disarray especially since he knew win or lose he was retiring. Honestly Randy is one of my favorite fighters and I think he a straight up guy but having Chuck on top leaves things in order. I was disappointed in Frank Mir's return but honestly the entire heavyweight division is also rans as long as Arlovski is on top. I had trouble swallowing Joe Riggs decision over Nick Diaz thought Diaz earned the win. Paul Buentello looked sharp but see my comments for Frank Mir. I think Renato Sobral definitely deserves a shot at Chuck, the guys on fire but its a dangerous match for the UFC to make. Brandon Vera looked strong in his win over Justin Eilers but see note Arlovski would eat him for breakfast. Note to Vera drop to 205 I honestly think you have a shot there. UFC 58 has a couple of interseting fights with franklin vrs loisseau and penn vrs st pierre. Looking forward to the ufc coming to Cali in April at the arrowhead pond. I am very excited that the UFC is bringing the lightweights back after what seemed an eternity. There are some amazing elements to this man's personality. At first he struck me as similar to Carson on Queer Eye in his flamboyance, then there was the element of this guy is crazy and shouldn't be there with those damn bears. Basically though I think that it was really a case of addiction and overdose. Basically Timothy Treadwell was addicted to going out and playing with these bears. For thirteen years he played with the in a certain set of parameters. The last year he pushed the envelope and ended up being eaten by a bear he wasnt familiar with yet knew was a risk to him.
