gps-direct-track.com
Well the newest and greatest of car alarm systems may be GPS Direct Track. The system allows you to mount a GPS, as the name implies unit within your vehicle. If the car is moved from within a fence, a predetermined distance it calls or pages you. So essentially if the car alarm fails you can still be notified if someone steals your car and then track them via the GPS. There are also features like the ability to lock your car remotely which I would have liked to have a few times when I made it upstairs and across the hospital and wondered if I had locked the xB. You can also control the starter and according to the web site power management is an option which I think means you can cut off electric flow to the car meaning if it were stolen it would come to a stop.

Need for speed update!
Well I have been battling need for speed 2 endlessly or should I say as time permits! My Civic is developing well. It is a five star car and I now have a Acura RSX, Mazda RX8, and Toyota Supra. I traded away the car that I couldnt remember the name of, a Peugot 206, though I am really just improving the Civic and the RSX. Im on stage 4 which means that I have basically covered/opened 4 sections of the city map. Basically as you advance in the game through racing you make money and improve your car. As you improve your car you get magazine and dvd covers which you get to shoot. So while my Civic is up to speed I try and bank some extra cash and put that money towards the RSX since I think once it had all of its mods it would make a better overall racecar.

Need for speed underground 2
Well as I finished Mercenaries I found a new addiction in the form of Need for Speed Underground 2. My bro finally got around to my xmas present! Well the game is incredibly fun. Basically you buy a stock car and start customising it. As you race more you get more money and buy better parts. You get DVD and magazine cover opportunities as well as your car gets cooler. I have three cars a civic, a supra, and another car from europe whose name I dont recall. Tricked out cars are rated in stars and the cars I have the civic is a 4.32 stars, the car I cant recalls name is a 1.1 stars and the supra is running on only some engine mods. Obviously my money car is the civic. I hope to get the supra up to speed quickly but I want to keep the civic at top notch. As you can see though I am way to caught up in this game too!

Audiovox XV6600 Pocket PC
Well the verizon rep came out to show me the most recent batch of blackberries and I ended up trialing an Audiovox XV6600 Pocket PC phone. Now mind you much of what this phone stands for; huge form factor; all in one; yadi yadi yadi..... But this phone like all things that end up working out seems to want to be a pocket pc that you can make calls from. The thing that is nice for me is that I can also use citrix to connect to work and troubleshoot problems. I' ll let you know how it turns out having a dsl speeed internet connection in my pocket. My experience with previous handheld internet devices has never left me feeling I could do anything I could on the regular computers. We'll see how ,uch progress they've made now!

Back in Business
Well my site seems to be behaving itself again and I almost have it back looking the way it was. Apparently my site was causing problems on the old server it was on so my host moved it to a new server where any issues will be less drastic. I was also finally able to download the template files so it looks close to what it did before. The guy who provides the templates Foshdawg had his site down for rennovation. So things should be back to normal.
In the time I wasn't able to blog it was a huge sports weekend for me with UFC 51 on Saturday and the Superbowl on Sunday. UFC was a great show. In the main event Tito Ortiz squeeked a split decision over Vitor Belfort. It is said that since this was both fighters last fight under contract we will probably be seeing more of Tito in the future, also helps that he lined up to willing opponents in the post fight interview, and wont be seeing more of Belfort in the Octagon. Honestly I secretly hope we will see Belfort in Pride because his style is better suited to Prides rules and ring. Besides hes the only man who has outdone Vanderlei in his own style fight. In other matches of interest Evan Tanner defeated David Terrell in classic ground and pound style weathering Terrell's best storm and coming back to stop the fight. The middleweight division long an afterthought is starting to spike interest and should be going strong now that it has a belt. In another title fight Andrei Arlovski defeated Tim Sylvia in dramatic fashion proving to me why he is probably the most dangerous man in the heavyweight ranks of the UFC. He nearly knocked Sylvia out and then when he couldnt get to Sylvia via strikes he slapped a leg lock on and forced him to submit. Some other interesting events Phil Baroni lost again getting choked out in the end of a fight he seemed to be ahead on which should end his UFC career though we have said this before and he still manages to get matches and he gets them on the live part of the pay per view. Paul Buentello of KOTC fame made a strong debut defeating the very solid Justin Eilers. Mike Kyle looked good, though I cant help but hate this guy, in dispatching James Irvin in the first round.
The Superbowl was almost too slow for me. The Patriots did what the Patriots do best in defeating the Eagles by forcing them to make more mistakes. Sure the Eagles beat the spread but they looked outplayed in the game that was seesawing until the fourth quarter. I know there are people that dont like the fact that people call the pats a dynasty but not only do these guys keep winning the big show they do it without TO's and Mcnabbs who destroy Philly if they left. The lack of a key is what I think makes the Pats truly a potential dynasty but I will wait til they take one more before they get that title from me! Should be interesting to see what they do next year with new offensive and defensive coordinators.

Fubar, Badinagoodway, and now Thatsjustnotright
Well I have told everyone that I was a big fan of Fubar, aka badinagoodway.com aka thatsjustnotright.com and it appears that Justin the site creator has walked away from blogging once again. I started visiting his site when he was at badinagoodway enjoyed it the most then. Justin is an awesome writer and I looked forward to checking it out almost daily. Apparently hosting problems got the best of the site and he gave it up. His site was reincarnated as thatsjustnotright.com and basically took up where it left off. In the last year Justin's focus shifted more to posting photos than to writing and seemed content with being the first to post the current paparazzi scoop. Also in the last year he switched from the old greymatter site to a new BB forums type site which I didn't like as much though really it might be more related to the contecnt than the format. Finally recently he merged his site into the Pheaton Network of websites which hoed out the site just a bit more. Well theres all sorts of speculation and fighting in the forums now but nobody seems to know why he quit. Im guessing from the way the site has been progressing over the past year he was probably tired of it. Anyways I hope he starts from scratch again and goes back to his old style website. Recently he had been posting more often and I was starting to visit a lil more frequently. Anyway Justin hope things are well and that you havent given up for good on the old weblogs for good. I suspect as in the past you'll get tired of all the mediocre weblogs out there and start another one after a well deserved rest!

radioSHARK radioSHARK is to radio what Tivo was to television. Basically its a radio antenna you attach via usb to your computer that allows you to record radio programming in .wav, .wma, .aac, and .aaif formats. So basically you can save it in a format that will let you burn it to CD, listen in windows medi player, or download it to your iPod. It seems that the iPod junkies are most enamored with the possibilities of this device.

Vincent Thomas Bridge with Lights
Well as part of San Pedro's recent upgrades the mayor of LA James Hahn and his siter Councilwoman Janice decided that lighting the Vincen Thomas bridge was an important part of the urban development. This is the new look bridge at night. It looks nice though the color seems a little ghostly to me. Its much nicer to look at during the evening. My great grandfather according to my grandmother helped design the bridge as well as many other LA Civil projects as a City Engineer.
