Primerica Financial Services
After spending all day at PFSU or Insurance School to meet the 52 hour educational requirement to sit for my State Insurance Exam I thought about what would be a good way to describe Primerica Financial Services to someone.

About Primerica:

Primerica Financial Services, a subsidiary of Citigroup, offers insurance and asset management services. The company provides term life insurance coverage and encourages customers to use the money they might have otherwise spent on full coverage life insurance to invest in mutual funds. The firm also provides debt-reduction advice. Primerica acts as a distributor for several Citigroup products, including loans from CitiFinancial, annuity products from Travelers Insurance, and mutual funds from Salomon Smith Barney. The company sells its products through a network of more than 100,000 sales representatives nationwide.

About Citigroup:

Citigroup (NYSE: C), the preeminent global financial services company with some 200 million customer accounts in more than 100 countries, provides consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, insurance, securities brokerage, and asset management. Major brand names under Citigroup's trademark red umbrella include Citibank, CitiFinancial, Primerica, Smith Barney, Banamex, and Travelers Life and Annuity. Interlingua
Well once again I fell upon something interesting wandering aimlessly on the Internet. Interlingua was an attempt to facilitate languages of various different European countries. I found it pretty interesting. Here are the rules!

These rules determine (1) in how many of the four control units an international word must be found in order to be eligible for representation in the auxiliary language; (2) in what form an eligible international word is to be standardized; and (3) what meaning or meanings it is to convey.

  1. For a word to be eligible for representation in Interlingua it should be represented by variants with at least one common meaning in at least three out of the four control units – English, French, Italian, Spanish/Portuguese.
  2. The standardized form in which an eligible international word is represented is a common-denominator form of all its variants and may be called their "prototype". The prototype is arrived at by a through study of the etymology of the word-family in which the international word is found.
  3. The meaning or meanings of a standardized international word are the meaning or meanings which the variants contributing to its eligibility have in common.

Superbowl 38
Well I have to admit I was pleased with the outcome tonight. After watching the way that Boston supports its teams when I was there in October I have a warm sentiment for their teams. What an awesome game for the Pats who were able to scrape out another one in the last minute again. I kind of feel sorry for Carolina because they played their hearts out as well.

UFC 46 Supernatural
Wow whoever guessed the outcome of tonights matches must be a rich man. Tonights show was awesome despite the disappointing outcome of the Belfort-Couture match. To say that both of those fighters were disappointed is a huge understatement. After Belfort hit Couture with a grazing blow which cut his eyelid causing an immediate stoppage Belfort looked like he was trying to convince the ref not to give him the belt as to say we can do this again I dont want it this way. You could hear John McCarth say to Belfort "It was a legal strike". In some ways the outcome was good as Belfort didn't look as though his mind and definitely his heart were in the fight with his sister missing back in Brazil. Hopefully things will get straitened out in Brazil and when the two meet again We will see the new and improved phenom face a healthy Randy Couture.

In the other main event came a huge surprise as BJ Penn tapped Matt Hughes in the first round to become the Welterweight Champion. Nobody, other than probably BJ, gave him a shot in this one and guessing from Matt's lackluster performance he definitely overlooked Penn. My heart was torn on this match as these two guys are my favorites from two different divisions.

Lee Murray looks to become a fan favorite as he decided Jorge Rivera with an armbar. Murray is infamous for supposedly knocking the crap out of Tito Ortiz outside of a bar in London after a UFC event there. The buildup is that Murray will fight a couple of times at middleweight and then move up to light heavyweight to face Ortiz in a rematch of their bar fight. In a report I read Ortiz was complaining about the fact that Murray kicked him in the head when he was on the ground, How did he get there? Anyways Ortiz and Liddel have finally signed to fight each other at UFC 47 in April. That should be a good fight and the trash talking was flying last night. Should be an interesting fight.

Also at UFC 47 Tim Sylvia, recently removed UFC Heavyweight Champ?, will face Andrei Arlovsky for the Heavyweight strap. That should be a good fight as well and whoever wins will probably face off against UFC posterboy Frank Mir who was ble to TKO Wes Sims with a nice two knees two punches combos in the first round. Mir showed heart taking out the big man when he was obviously exhausted and in a fashion not typical to him.

In the often forgotten Lightweight division Matt Serra decided Jeff Curan and Josh Thompson decided Hermes Franco. I am not sure what the UFC will do in this division. I would love to see Lil Evil Jens Pulver come back to give some life to the division but Im not sure if he can do it and save face. In an interview BJ did before th Hughe's fight BJ talked about trying to get a Pulver fight but not getting a match he wanted with Pulver and then fighting with no desire in the lightweight tourney, it showed. Penn then went on to destroy Takanori Gomi the other superstar lightweight at Ruble on the Rock IV.

I really enjoyed last nights show, despite the crappy way the Belfort-Couture fight ended. The matches were really exciting and the excitement was in the air. I was jumping and screaming when Penn choked out Hughes. I hope uFC decides what it is going to do with ALL of its divisions. They need to clarify what they are going to do with the middleweight and lightweight divisions, clean up their heavyweight division, and not focus as much on their top notch Light Heavy and Welterweight divisions. If Murillo doesn't come back in the picture soon the should strip him and give Linland and someone else a shot at the strap. They also need to find some closure at the lightweight division, which was hurt when Uno and Penn couldn't beat each other. The damn Heavyweight division has seen two of its champs stripped for steroid use which would have killed any boxing federation. Hopefully UFC will get its act together and we will see the whol thing come together this year!
