UFC 41 - Onslaught
What an awesome show. While there were a lot of decisions none of them were dull. Yves Edwards defeated Rich Clementi by rear naked choke after dominating in almost every facet. Clementi was entertaining with his desire to stand with Yves which is always a dangerous proposition. In a match not shown Gan McGee defeated Alexandre Dantas by tko in the first round. In amother dark match Din Thomas defeated Matt Serra by split decision in what I count as an upset.
The pay per view started off with Vladimir Matyushenko defeating Pedro Rizzo in a battle that was interesting for its clash of styles as always Rizzo lost by waiting for an opportunity to counter strike and anyone with half a brain wont give it to him. The janitor had a good game plan and also looked good at heavyweight. In the most anticipated rematch also the battle of the mouths Matt Lindland defeated Phil Baroni as he did the first time they fought by grounding and pounding. Both guys fought their hearts out and this one was exciting but "The Law" never looked to be in much danger. In the first title bout for the Lightweight championship B.J. Penn and Caol Uno fought to a draw. This was a fast paced battle that was always moving but I dont think that unless Penn knocks someone out will he get the win. He seemed to be the decided victor and one judge heavily gave the decision to Uno. This one was controversial and should be interesting to see what the fallout will be. In the much anticipated return of Tank it was perhaps the biggest disappointment. Frank Mir submitted David Abbott in less than a minute looking like his old self and making Tank look like and old self. In the final match and in a huge upset Tim Sylvia knocked out Ricco Rodriguez in decisive fashion silencing critics and gaining fans.

WWE Raw
Raw took a big step up tonight compared to recent weeks especially considering Stone Cold wasn't on the show. The first big surprise was the Rock showing up. The second was the main event which was a twebty man battle royal for the shot at the title at Wrestlemania. The storyline and interviews flowed well with the Rock adding some great entertainment along the way. The Battle Royal was a surprise as Booker T won throwing the Rock over the top rope. I am glad that they finally seem to be giving him a push as he deserves it.

WWE No Way Out
Well it was another strong pay per view for the old WWE. Jericho and Hardy had a good match which was no surprise as these guys always put on a good match. Next was Kane & RVD versus Regal & Storm with Regal and Storm getting the nod after nearly unmasking Kane who chokeslammed RVD to let Storm get the pin. Matt Hardy beat Billy Kidman for the cruiserweight belt which should make for an interesting storyline down the road. Taker and Big Show was awesome match. Taker won via triangle choke making me believe he must be a big MMA fan as this was the second match of his to finish with a triangle. Benoit and Lesnar defeated Team Angle after Edge was taken out prior to the match. Obvious that Wrestlemania is gonna be Lesnar versus Angle unless there is a huge surprise. Triple H defeated Steiner in what was a surprise to me as I figured Steiner would have the belt going into Wrestlemania. Stone Cold pounded Bischoff in what was fairly boring from a match standpoint but it was good to see the rattlesnake back in business. In the final match Rock beat Hogan by screwing him via a crooked ref with the help of Mr. McMahon. I expect to see Hogan and McMahon at Wrestlemania.

WWE Smackdown versus Raw
Well as you know I am a wrestling addict. I am looking forward to No way out on pay per view tonight. It just strikes me that the smackdown brand is 10 times better than Raw. It seems that they are stacking the deck against Raw as well. Smackdown has Rock, Hogan, Taker, and Angle at the top and Raw has Triple H, Stone Cold? Steiner, Michaels and Nash.
Raw is limping at best now. While I know there are tons of Shawn Michaels fans out there and I am one for sure he is wrestling more than most of us thought he ever would and I don't think his presence is more than a life preserver right now. One also has to wonder how Nash will fit in if/when he comes back. Stone Cold is coming back today but one has to wonder what kind of reception the man who abandoned WWE will get coming back. The four horseman - evolution angle has not garnered as much interest as I thought. Maybe reuniting Nash, Triple H, and Michaels will strike up some interest in the future?
Smackdown on the other hand has much better storylines right now. Team Angle has been awesome and the side story of Paul Heyman managing Big Show and Team Angle makes things interesting as well. As for headliners Rock going bad is awesome as he is as far as I am concerned the best heel or face. Hogan still has the pop although aged to create interest. Taker seems to always be in the most interesting storyline no matter how significant or insignificant his storyline is. Big Show has stepped it up and while I still dont think he is top tier, his rivalry with Taker has been entertaining. Nathan Jones is the most exciting new guy coming up and I look forward to seeing him and Taker take things up next. The cruiserweights have been nothingbut entertaining and Matt Hardy should make things even more interesting as well. Edge is probably the hottest superstar on the bubble right now of being top tier and lower tier. I would like to see WWE implement the Intercontinental type title again to push some of the lesser guys again. The mobster stiryline has been interesting as well but I wonder how long they will be pushed?
We'll see how things shape up for Raw today but they may need to do some major restructuring soon to salvage interest!

GM Hy Wire hy-wire.bmp (248k file) Wow talk about wanting a new technology car. This thing is awesome. Wired wrote up a fairly complete article on this new Hy Wire concept car. The car uses hydrogen so it doesn't have an engine to block the front end like a normal car would. It also uses a airplane like control that handles acceleration braking and steering all in one handgrip. Check it out!

The Department of Commerce said it will support an electronic-numbering system, known as ENUM, which would allow consumers to specify a single identifier for their telephone numbers, e-mail and Instant Messaging addresses, fax numbers, and mobile phone numbers.
In a letter to the State Department, Assistant Secretary of Commerce Nancy Victory said the U.S. should endorse the effort but work to ensure that users' privacy and security will be protected and innovation and competition would be encouraged.
"The time has come for the United States to be more active on this issue," Victory wrote. "We must ensure that ENUM can be implemented in a pro-consumer, secure and competitive manner."
Victory said the Commerce Department would work with the State Department and the Federal Communications Commission to help set the network up.
ENUM has already won support from 13 other countries, and an international telecommunications body has been working to set standards on a global basis.
The specific ENUM standard, known as E.164.arpa, translates telephone numbers into Internet addresses and vice versa. For example, the telephone number 1-202-555-1234 would be expressed as an Internet address as 4.3.2.1.5.5.5.2.0.2.1.e164.arpa. Users would be spared typing all this out as Web browsers or advanced phones would likely automate the process.

My surfing
There are two sites I spend a lot of quality time at. Badinagoodway.com and Sherdog.com. Sherdog because it is the end all of all mma websites with tons of info, photos, fighter records, etc. There is no need to go elsewhere for information. Badinagoodway, com is to be blamed for me having this site at all in the first place. It is an entertaining weblog that is the cream of the crop of weblogs. I was bummed when it was down the past few weeks with server problems as the owner puts it, Basically his site is too good for its own good. Well it is back up again so check it out if you have a chance.
