Apple iPad

Well I have to admit I'm concerned I'm becoming a bit of an Apple fan boy. Sure I've owned every generation of iPhone that has come out and several iPods. But on the other hand I've never owned a Mac. So I have to admit I was excited about todays announcement of their new tablet which they have labeled iPad. I had hoped for a netbook version of a mac knowing we were looking at a tablet device. I think this device will hit that mark since it appears to be more than just an oversized iPhone. It will include the core iPhone apps of email, calendar, music, etc. with wifi and at a premium 3G radio connectivity. So sure the apps have more potential with increased viewing real estate on the 9.7 inch screen which sets it around the size of you average netbook screen with what looks like an amazing display. Apple has produced iWork apps specifically for this device in an effort to gap it from the iPhone but not so much as to believe you can replace a laptop with it. It is targeted to fall in between the iPhone and a Mac. It will be capable of doing what most people need a device for at home which is audio, video, photos, and books. Imcurious to see if they will work out a way to print directly from the iPad or will you have to email items to a real computer to do that. All in all its an eciting device. Apple will price the wifi only model at $499 for a 16GB model to $699 for a 64GB model and 3G enabled devices will run $629 to $829 for the extra radio. Battery life is claimed at 10 hours in use and 31 days on standby. Apple also announced 3 accesories a dock, dock with keboard, and a case. I also understand it will run with an Apple bluetoot keboard as well. The price is steeper than most netbooks but the device seems worth it!

Bad Bad Blogger
Well life has been keeping me busy but all is good. Tomorrow we hope to hear about the inafamous Apple Mac Tablet. The rumors have it as 10 inch tablet/netbook using a beefed up version of the iphone os which if my memory serves me right is a slimmed down version of the Mac OS. Its definitely going to have a reader function as today a textbook publisher spilled the beans about the new device. I cant wait to hear about it tomorrow!
